But i swear i saw Mir riding outside the track limits before attacking Rossi but I'll let it slide.

If he actually did that stewards would've spotted earlier & someone would've complained to them.

At this rate Dovi can pull a Nicky Hayden & be content with finishing on podium until final race but the consistency from title contenders are shocking sweat.gif

When Doohan was forced to retire in 1999, Criville & KR Jr stepped up but it was mostly Criville who dominated (thanks to the bike). Pretty much similiar this year but no one has the consistency.

500cc class wasn't memorable to me that time. I remembered there were like 3 Repsol riders. Didn't even remember the Doohan crash. All I remember was the 250cc class fight with Rossi winning the championship and Alzamora winning the championship without winning a single race.

1999 250cc battle is tame compared to the previous year. 1999 was just confirmation of Rossi's talent.

At first I was wondering how Petronas SRT outperformed factory Yamaha but I was remindered that they have former Lorenzo's crew chief. A bit like how Rossi used to outperform anyone on a "satellite" Honda in 500cc days. Razlan really pulled a masterstroke there.

Pretty much confirms Martin is going to Pramac. A great step up for Remy too.

If Martin going Pramac, Where is Bastianini going?Avintia? and Bagnaia going factory team?
*
Yes & yes. Zarco is expected to be promoted to Pramac with factory bike & Rabat probably keeps his ride at Avintia. Next year's lineup is almost complete except the second SRT seat (Rossi?) & Aprilia's second seat (either they keep Smith until Iannone's suspension ends middle of next year or someone else).

Marini might end up promoted to premier class.

Let's see if qualifying specialist MV can nail it this time. He said they've made changes to front end which he feels comfortable and happy for the race pace... guess he would be running away at front never look back if the setup suits him.

Qualifying: "everything is good."

Race day: "everything is bad/I've made a mistake."

The track dried out almost immediately. Capirossi simply stated the track is fine.

Unless the rain comes back later in premier class...

Pressure is different between race & qualifying. In qualifying you have the whole track for yourself. smile.gif

I think the problem isn't pressure but handling the pressure. Vinales is a neo-Gibernau.

Dovi is barely hanging on the championship lead by a single point. If only he can do better in quali...

Bagnaia still has a lot to work on. Hard to digest that surely.

I think Rossi might end up with his own team in 2022.

Great lap by Morbi and also VR to finally get into the front row. Should be a good race tomorrow but looks likely Dovi will relinquish his lead.

I think Dovi's terrible quali performances might end up biting him back. If he can make it to Q2 consistently in next races the worse he could do in race proper is top 5.

What & where's next for Alex Briggs? This guy has been at the paddock since Doohan days.

Embarassing from factory Yamaha. The Japanese big bosses should amalgamate the factory team & Petronas SRT & appoint Razlan as team principle. Yamaha is no longer the top dog after Brivio left.

If this race was 2-3 laps longer, both Suzuki riders could've give Quartararo a scare. Quartararo complained his tyres barely made it to the end. I don't know how Suzuki made those Michelin tyres durable like Bridgestone. If only Suzuki qualified higher...

Biggest loser is Dovi obviously, although not his fault. A bit disappointed with Miller (terrible mid & late race pace, he's the opposite of Vinales).
