How does their pre-order / order  system works actually? Is it similar to Apple Malaysia where the stocks doesn't go OUT OF STOCK but instead as the number of bookings / purchase increase, the shipping date will be pushed to a later date OR the stocks are limited and once it goes OUT OF STOCK, it means you won't be able to order / pre-order it until stocks are replenished?

Then what's the point of asking customers to get their Maxis Online Account ready (which requires paying off their bills and using principal line) for Pre-order when they don't even plan to allow existing customer to pre-order online? If it's really true about them not allowing current customer to pre-order, its gonna be stupid because they will be losing even more customers as existing customers might just get fed up and port out ordering from other Telcos

There is no best telco. Just pick the telco that works best for you.

If someone has to explain to you the benefits of an iPhone then can I humbly suggest that you do not buy an iPhone 7 coz it may be overpriced and not suit your needs - you may end up regretting...

Hopefully they'll release details about the plans by afternoon / evening. I would agree it's the least happening iPhone launch in years as even this thread itself is not moving as fast as previous iPhone launches

Just talked to Maxis customer service, I was told Maxis only offer iPhone 7 purchase for the MOP 128 like before and no more iValue plan. So looks like those making decision to buy from Gemfive is a right move.

Thats why they purposely hold back the plans.

Tonight some people will get a rude shock when they log in and try to preorder lol.

Especially those on MOP 98.

To make thing worse, previous MOP128 is 2 years contract, that's crazy for the discount Maxis given to iPhone on previous MOP plan.

Are you sure you didn't convert from iValue 1 1 year contract to MOP98? Maxis never offer iPhone on MOP98 as far as I remember and what the officer told me minutes ago. If there is MOP98 1 year plan, I think many will go for that instead of iValue 1.

Apple pre-order don't give freebies, this is why I don't like to pre-order. I'm going to queue in telco launching day. There are freebies awaits. 

Ima sure. But with limited first 50 or first 7 like that. Not all queue up people gets it. Last time Umobile is kind enough to provide free donuts and coffee for us.

I am currently using normal sim. If really my phone arrives on the 14th, I need to go to Digi centre to change to nano sim. Wah, means I need to queue like others too   

All these telcos, the transparency has become worse than before. Why cant they just announce the plan earlier and let consumer choose wisely.. if you are good enough, there's nothing to afraid of.

I wish all of us could teach them a lesson by not signing up blindly. But i know that's not gonna happen since so many of us here eager to get this iphone asap

What i meant is they should announce the plan earlier. Few days ago. They expect us to be a good and modernised customer, but they also behave like old fashion telco.

Just look at the US. the plan is ready and revelead when apple launched the iPhone 7. Customers have ample time to compare. To be tied with 2 years  is like a long term investment, so it's not appropriate for them to do like this..

Please dont add on monthly commitment fee into your total cost of ownership.Either way, u still need a data plan even if u purchase it outright.

However if u wish to include all, this is the way to calculate:

Without plan:
Normal plan rm80 (10gb internet) * 24 = rm1920 + outright purchase = RM4299.
Total cost of ownership is RM6219.

With celcom first gold plan:
Package plan rm98 (12gb internet) * 24 = RM2352 + phone price (after gst ?)= RM2978
Total cost of ownership is RM5330.

But im not sure the rm2978 is inclusive of gst or not. if before gst, total ownership will become rm5508.68..

For me it's not about the data coz I hardly ever finish the monthly quota allocated, but it's more about the calls coz I'm in the sales line, and I clock minimum 8 hours talk time a month. Which is why I'm always happy to sign a contract with telco.

Oh, and the fact that the company pays my monthly commitment fees helps, too
