Ya, but normally they wait for the release or the pricing before they start scalping...

The thing with Apple product launch is they have the ability to make a mediocre upgrade sound like a huge, big time upgrade and you'll end up wanting to buy into it, even if you previously said you didn't plan to.

Apple has already increased the price twice last year due to our worthless currency, so I'm guessing maybe an additional RM100 premium over the previous 6S Plus prices which will roughly match the prices with our neighbors down south.

Have a feeling the middle child (128GB) will be quickly out of stocks when it arrives, just like the 64GB for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

32GB will do... My existing iPhone 6S Plus usage is at 24GB - since October 2015

Yes agree. The price should be around current 6S price or either slightly higher or lower.

Apple increased prices twice last year due to our currency depreciation and since the second increase (when RM was at about 4.3x against the USD) the RM has staged a mild recovery to about 4.0x to 4.10 now so if Apple was concerned about currency, they wouldn't have dropped the prices of existing 6S, iPad and Apple Watch prices after the announcement.

Of course, a lot can happen to our currency in between now and when the phone is finally available in our shores, but if it really heads down south, then I think the iPhone price should be the least of our worries

Since we were on this topic, I just remembered why I upgraded from 6 Plus to 6S Plus even though I said I wouldn't - because after the price adjustments by Apple I actually made a profit by selling off my older 6 Plus in GS and only had to pay a couple of hundred more for the 6S Plus by signing a Telco contract, ha ha ha...

Yes, I think I am likely to get the 7 Plus, but just 32GB will do - based on my usage pattern throughout these years with the iPhone. 16GB is too little and even 64GB is overkill... But am not in a hurry... will most likely get an Apple Watch first, now that the prices has gone down

Next year? Well, most likely I won't upgrade (I said that last year and this year and still I upgraded, ha ha)

There is the other issue of being an early adopter - whether or not you'll run into first batch production defects - e.g. antennagate, bendgate, etc.

Or God forbid, the battery is a fire hazard

Don't think so.

Most analysts and industry experts have predicted that there will not be a 7S next year, but will go direct to a 8, with a brand new design.

Of course we'll sell off the 7 and get the 8 then!

It's never worth it, but as Uncle Benny puts it, these are things that don't matter to enthusiasts

At this point it's all speculation and predictions. The 7 definitely is more powerful than the 6S for sure. But it's anyone's guess whether there will be a 7S or 8 next year
