Guess will stay a night or 2 at Kundasang, any other attraction around beside the dairy farm that's suitable for older kids?
upside down house & hotspring no need go, as Kuching also got already tongue.gif
Weekend or weekday for Kundasang? any weekend market/events there like Cameron?
for the seafood restaurant, guess it should be close shop liao, search streetview whole day on the route I remember also cannot find anything that looks familiar :x

kundasang is a kampung, no event there laugh.gif
if no hotspring, maybe can visit the rabbit farm
quite a few place u can visit in kundasang
but if u wanna skip hotspring and upside down house
thn u can surely do daytrip to kundasang already since not much u need to visit

start by doing desa farm 1st thn go rabbit farm thn go buy the chicken wing at kundasang(next to intan restaurant & cafe)the only place with smoke
thn u can start going down already
kundasang have market but don't ask me when is it because i don't go up there everyday
on the way down can swing by sinalau bakas(if u can eat pork)

but DO NOT go up there during public holiday...jam stuck

Planning a week+ family trip to KK in early Dec school holiday

Haven't to KK for many years, previously are just short business trip, this time family gonna tag along, 2A+2K

So gonna rent a car, probably throughout the whole 1 week, either Saga or Bezza
Stay in KK will be using Airbnb

Kundasang should stay one night there right? not recommend for day trip from KK?

Also planning to try out white water rafting there, seems got 2 choices, Padas River (class III-IV rapid) or the milder class I-II rapid Kiulu river, much cheaper as well if self drive there.  Anyone tried either one of those, how's it compared to the Ayung river in Bali?

Also planning for island hopping + snorkeling while in KK, most info just pointing to go Jesselton Pier to look for package, and buy from there, anyone got additional info to share?  I need to estimate some budget for that hmm.gif

And seafood! colleague brought me to a local seafood restaurant, which is pretty cheap and yummy compared to those tourist slaughterhouse in city center, problem is that colleague is no longer around, and I can't remember where the place is! :x
I only vividly remember it's either somewhere in Damai, or somewhere near the 2nd roundabout after you use the coastal road to floating mosque.  I remember it's an open space, not shoplot, not nearing any seaside, it has a colorful neon arch, dunno the name, as I go there makan only tongue.gif

Depending to your itinerary, 1 night at Kundasang will suffice, 2 nights if you love the cold weather (end of the year colder). Yeah, dairy farm is 1 of the attraction, the war memorial is another but this 1 barely take 5 mins stop lol. Before the quake, Kinabalu resort used to be my must go place to chill but the road is now closed.
I've never been to upside down house. Hotspring is ok. Don't bother going to tea farm, freaking far & warm.
Weekend definitely more crowded coz even the KK peeps will go up there themselves to makan angin & buy vege while they're up there. I think the market opens daily but weekend definitely has more stalls, though not night market type like Cameron. Ranau town has weekend market though, not the must go kind though.

Save Sunday morning for KK coz that's the only day Gaya Sunday market (duh) is open.

Last few months just go to Kundasang. I though Desa Dairy Farm was a large place. wink.gif

Turn out it took only 1-2 hour at Desa Dairy Farm. laugh.gif

For those who are planning to have a holiday trip to Kundasang, can read my review here.

Hi guys, I'm flying to KL from Kota Kinabalu for 1 and a half week. Going to drive to KK and park my car there. Any idea where I can find relatively cheap & safe parking areas?

recommended and legal tour operators?
2) Is Welcome Seafood only the best seafood place? Any other recommendations?
3) Best place to see probiscy monkeys?
4) Poring hot spring worth to do?
5) TAR island hopping. Worth it? Do they hop on all 5 islands?
6) Mari mari cultural Village tour worth it?
7) Anything else worth seeing?

Do let know if the tours prices indicated online are normal? (ie adult 300, kids 150 and over etc) hmm.gif

travel 1-2 hour one way will not get u anywhere to see rafflesia flower or poring hot spring

u need more time than that

1. DIY is call rent a car
2. welcome seafood is cheaper than their competitor
3. best place to see prosboscis monkey is at sandakan
