Will be heading to Kundasang and Ranau directly from the Airport. For the trip, I've rented a car for it.
Was mulling whether I should extend the rental for when I stay in KK. I'm staying in the City Center, all the attractions I want to go seem to be in walking distance only. So I figured there is no point in wasting money to keep the car for a couple of days without really using it.
*
all boils down to where u wanna visit actually
if all the attraction u wanna visit is in kk, thn u can just walk
if wanna go abit outside kk, can always use grab(with code)
unless u go way out like kundasang and ranau in your case thn you'll need car

Is it worth staying overnight in Kundasang? What is there to do there at night?

Anyone been to Pulau Tiga (aka Survivor Island)? How long is the journey from KK city? Is it better than Sapi/Manukan/Mamutik/Gaya which are nearer to the cities? Worth going?

How about this UMS Eco Campus Tour (http://www.ums.edu.my/ecocampusv2/index.php/en/news/79-ums-tourism-packages)? Anyone tried before?
Looks like only launched last year, and they have Sunset Tour which only cost RM85 (include 30 mins cruise)/pax. Seems like a cheaper alternative to other sunset cruise in the city. Not sure if anyone tried before?

Has anyone rent a car in KK and drove all the way to tip of Borneo in Kudat? Did you get charged extra for long distance travel? I noticed in my car rental invoice there's a RM150 surcharge for car driven 150km from Kota Kinabalu, is this standard practice among all car rental companies?

Ok, thanks for the feedback, a few reputable car rental companies which I checked (those with website), majority seems to have mileage policy such as max 200km/day

Hi there, I am going to KK on the 22-25th Sept. I am planning to go Manukan Island. Just want to clarify. If I am going Manukan island for snorkelling, do I need to find a travel agent?

Do I need to book ahead or can I just buy ticket and book agent at Jesselton point when I touchdown in KK?

Planning to go on a solo trip this coming October holiday. What's the best transport method for a single person around sabah? I don't have a motorcycle license though.

Renting car for myself few days seemed a bit too expensive, is there any tour that I can join to move around? Looking to more island hopping and 1-2 days in city.

Any recommended package/agent for water activities? I'm looking for some scuba diving/sea walking (got no diving license though), maybe parasailing too.
There's this website for seawalking but all the links are dead.

Edit: Compiling stuff that I might be going for

hi, I'm going to kundasang the next week after merdeka holiday. the only thing i want to ask is about food. heard that food in kundasang is generally nothing to shout about, or maybe even worse than what we have here in semenanjung. im going for 4D3N and not planning to cook everyday otherwise it wouldn't be a holiday even though the chalet does provide kithen utility. what are my options?
