i wish my vileplume got that high cp
mine got a dragon killer moveset but only cp 900ish

Just wanted to ask everyone here - do you guys generally power up the pokemon that you have caught / evolved to Max or around Max potential???

I know many people care about moveset / iv / cp, but say you catch a snorlax, or evolve a dragonite would you power it up?

Honestly, the reason I'm asking is because I noticed a lot of people between level 23-28 having tonnes or 2k cp pokemon (disregarding the fact of iv and moveset). I'm within that range but yet to catch / evolve a single one above 2k. Therefore, it's for my info / knowledge.

Lol... your funny man... initially i am more than glad to share my research ... but since got wild accusation... forget it.. i come to know my area spawn stuff at different area at specific time coz of my frequent gym battle ... give you an eg for you to try.. usj20 park time 12.30noon to 3.30 noon.. will spawn jynx min twice daily.. morning 7am to 7.30am will spawn jynx at mpsj field... how i know... i pass by daily at those time... be more observant n u will know ... tips given.. questiom now is r u willing to wait few hours for it? Then u will give excuses n say me no life.. n this debate will continue... very much predictable...

By the way the white stuff at the side your refering... pls go to any samsung shop n pick up 7 edge... ask the saleman what is that... it comes standard quick launch customizable side bar... feel free to try

Initially i do calculate iv etc based on what i read online..
Come to realise doesnt make much difference... no matter how high cp pokemon is.. a team effort can take it out easily... best c hp and moveset dps n c which one is effective against the pokemon placed inside the gym... team effort is more important.. as for catching above 2k... its really random... i power up my pokemon for that... places like setiawalk n taman jaya with non stop spawning is good for stardust... for me i catch everything n dont choose... i leave when my pokeballs run out... on the way back i pusing ss15 slowly to hatch and reload the balls ... generally hot area like bangsar etc will spawn rare stuff past 1am...

People being selective with IV is because they are preparing for the upcoming PvP feature. Sure IV isnt gonna make much difference in current gym battle, but during a competitive trainer battle, even a slight 0.1% IV advantage can bring differemce in battle result.

Gr8 to know. But normally if you guys catch a 15xx pokemon wild or evolve a 16xx pokemon do you guys tend to power it up Max to 2k or more cp. (Forget iv n moveset for a moment)

Or do you guys catch / hatch / evolve pokemon that hit the 2k cp often?

Agree.. read up on that b4 also... i havent come to that level yet and most probably wont as this is a platform for me, my wife and my two kids to play.. father and mother take gym out.. put something easy for them like magikarp and let them battle.. let them collect 10 coin per day they very happy already.. lol.. its d process of fun goin round finding unexpected stuff which is priceless... especially when four person inside car catch.. d cp pokemon that my sons got is higher than their parents.. they super happy and say d darndest things like.. " daddy daddy look.. my pokemon more powerful than yours one leh.." and we all laugh over it.. my youngest son age 4 havent fully memorized a to z.. but he can named all pokemon name out.. haha.. today while goin round taipan collecting balls chance upon charmeleon... my son's cp 700+ and mine 400+ ... he super happy already..

Dunno bout others.. i just concentrate beefing up 8 of my strongest moveset pokemons (6 for battle) two for gym ..for me i collect 20 coin daily .. my dragonite i evolve from dratini... usj1 got one river spawn dratini better and faster than titiwangsa.. most of it is wonder category... today got dragonair from there also while farming for dratini... but overall most of the time pokemon from egg hatch is automatically wonder type.. for my snorlax i pump two up to 2k.. originally catched 1300 to 1500... dragonite telan most stardust... experience friends told me to wait till level 30 only evolve high iv pokemon to gain max cp and also to hatch 10km egg by then... but i did it anyhow coz my youngest want to see the animation... secondly i dont have luck to catch dragonite till today... at bangsar saw ppl run and shout dragonite.. follow d crowd.. d very first dragonite i saw is with cp???... and it ran away... lol .. so i was kinda dissapointed also and agree to my youngest son request..

Well this game is certainly the cheapest hobby shared within my family by far.. the only thing burn is petrol money increase rm70/week from pusing taman and jalan jalan... can exercise at the same time at hot area like titiwangsa, setiawalk etc.. if keep them at home... if buy lego for them to play .... per box (1 day settle) can subsidised this pogo for 2 months... this pogo better hahaha...

Thanks for your reply. Powering up from 15xx to 2xxx cp takes up tonnes of stardust n candies. Guess I need to work harder. Its awesome u found a place to farm dratinis. So far I have yet to collect enough candies to evolve even one.

Since the buddy system was released, have been focusing on those pokemon which Im short of <15 candies to evolve. Planning to leave dratini to the last. Hopefully can catch some more in the wild. Cheers.

For abras, what's the highest cp with good iv that you have caught / hatched? The highest I got is around 340. Even if evolve going to be hard to power up.

As for drowzee, I have only caught 1 in Klang valley area. So I have to forget about evolving one for now. Strangely, its hard to find drowzees in msia.

Yup... you can do it ... keep it up.. stardust best catch everything small cp... like ratata, caterpie, pidgey, weedle... evolve only need 12 candy... n ratata 25.. so i go round my area catchin all this + lepak at taman jaya/setiawalk catch everything i can.. especially magikarp... all these good for leveling up n stardust

Camp at usj11/3 park.... can get you quite a few near the gym
But do take note its gated and guarded residential... so i park d car at the park and walk in + walk around.... i got enough drowsee from usj11/3 and usj11 main big park with skating area to evolve... hope that helps..

P/s: just now otw back from fetchin my kids to school.. i pusing that area to collect balls... got myself another drowsee...

For single evolution pokemon, it's gonna be hard to hit 2k plus CP unless the pokemon has quite high CP like a CP 900 Eevee/Growlithe or maybe a CP 800 exeggute. The only Pokemon I got more than 2K CP is dragonite using a CP 600 Dratini..

Finally got dragonite liao.

Just curious whether you powered up any of them?

Took a lot of grinding for it.

Top 4 and the Flareon are powered up.
