Heh. Looking at this site seems that the gtr gearbox really and seriously has a lot to cover.

QUOTE(kadajawi @ Nov 8 2016, 07:25 AM) Maybe not so extreme. Maybe the GT-R is more brutal. Instead of 3000 rpm they do it at 4500 rpm... Maybe the GT-R drops it extremely quick, while other cars leave a bit more time, so the forces working on the gearbox aren't as strong. Maybe. AFAIK, Porsche do with launch control at 4000+ rpm tooOr the Nissan engineers just screwed up/couldn't be bothered. Who know. I hope that's not it though. |

Maybe the GT-R drops it extremely quick, while other cars leave a bit more time, so the forces working on the gearbox aren't as strong. Maybe. The first versions of the GTR (pre 2009) was having the launch programmed at 4500 rpm but afterwards they reprogrammed to about 3000 rpm. However they also keep increasing the engine power from around 480 to almost 600hp on the Nismo version.Or the Nissan engineers just screwed up/couldn't be bothered. Who know. I hope that's not it though. |
