You could probably get 1000km but with drastic measures (i.e: drive on highway only, off air cond, drive at a super optimal speed, maybe some weight reduction) hahaha ... If not a full tank in this Tiguan will probably get you 650km at most in our usual Malaysian driving condition.

Yes for highline spec ... I really hope that VW has turned things around with the DSG 6 speed wet clutch and service ... If not i will really regret buying the Tiguan

Dont think they produce for neighbouring countries .. The HAAM factory is a 12 jobs per hour output but at best they can achieve 8 la. It also produces other VW models so not all are Tiguan, and usually when there is high demand the chances for 'line stop' is higher. On top of that its close to Raya so plant shuts down earlier and workers are slower (quite kesian them actually) especially when you see it first hand. I know because I work for an automotive engineering company supplying equipment to manufacturers

At the moment the Tiguan's are all SKD. Painted bodies are imported from Germany and they assemble eveything else locally (all of the parts of the Tiguan are also fully imported such as seats, door trim etc...). Many new car model go through this same process, just depends on how long the government grant them this permit. So for those who got their Tiguan already its all SKD models. Sooner or later painting will be localised, and certain parts will be sourced locally to keep their price competitive. So for those who are waiting (like me), just keep waiting till you get your car, chances are its the SKD model, later on will be fully CKD liao ... And Bobby Ang poison me d so ill just wait quietly.

HICOM Automotive Manufacturers Malaysia (sorry its HAMM) .. he he he .. and also, to blame VPCM isn't entirely fair as they do not manufacture VW cars in Malaysia, HAMM does and its a totally separate entity and company. Can totally understand the frustration buyers are going through, even myself but if production jam then the whole supply chain also jam ..

yeah easy to blame HAMM la but then they also have their own problems in the factory .. somemore now near to Raya, production usually slows down a lot ... just have to wait i guess

Yes they do .. in that factory the paintshop shares between Mercedes and VW (Polo, Passat, Jetta, Tiguan) (C class, E class)
