Official Review after weeks usage:
1. Design 10/10
The design of the phone is one of the most desire to date. Comparing with the following phones in my family members: Xperia Z, Z3, Z5, IP6S+, Note7, Galaxy S7, S5, S3, Nokia Lumia 720. The XZ is the unit that I would want to hold it naked without any case. Poison point: the back ALKALEIDO finish

2. Phone authentication 9/10
I used pattern + fingerpring for unlock of the phone. The FP sensor at the power button is just the right spot and it is super fast compare to N7/S7/ip6s+. One issue is that when my finger is wet, it is hard to detect so had to either clean the water residue of your finger&power button or use the pattern unlock.
3. Screen 9/10
Although with only 1080p, the screen is nice. Color is rich and vivid, outdoor viewing is clear. Nothing to brag about unlike other 2K/4K S-Amoled screen but served the matter well.
4. Power & battery 8/10
Naturally starts the day @ 7am with full power and goes home @ 6 at around 40-45% left with SOT around 3h. 80% wifi 20% mobile data. Seldom run GPS. Hardly gaming (only occasional Clash Royale chest collection). Mostly phone calls, whatsapps, 8mp photo shoot. Hardly use the QC2.0/3.0 charger mainly because it can last me till bedtime. with CQ3.0 charger I can achieve 30-80% in an hour. What more to ask for this super fast charging?
5. protection 7/10
IP68 is a must for my usage. Being involved in purchasing and sales support of commercial vehicle components, I often had to take photos of dirty spare parts with dust & oily grease. washing it with water or occasional soap is required. Sony flagship had been delivered the IP68 very good since, and I appreciate it very much. IMOS SP at the front is doing really well too. Only concern is that unlike the Z, it does not fully cover the ports so I am worry abit that water resistance would give way in 2 years time with the way I handle it. This is also one of the reason I still have not found a suitable casing (SCTF10 is... erm...

)
Might want to find a 3.5mm headphone plug and maybe a usb-c plug, if any.
6. Performance 8/10
It is responsive, although it only comes with 3gb RAM. comparing with N7, SGS7, or even ip6s+, it does as good as others if no better. comparing to my Xperia Z (main daily drive phone previously) its a leap in performance. It does warm up abit under heavy usage but overheat is absolutely non existence. Heck even my Z overheat like hell still can use (N7 o-wait~

)
7. Camera 6.5/10 & Video 8/10
The 23MP photo is below average, I suspect is that there is little or no noise reduction algorithm under this 23mp mode (WYSIWY Shoot mode). Not recommended to use it. The 8mp shooter is producing good natural photo. While the Samsungs are given sharper and colorful results but I still prefer the non overly saturated results. iauto is good and now I am using manual mode with 400ISO and other set to default. It won't generate too much of noise with this.
The video mode is top notch, especially when the stabilization kicks in it makes the video really stable. shaky hands would love this feature.
8. Apps 8/10
The apps management is very responsive and works very well in the back. Now I hardly need to use the close all function. Touch wood never hang/reboot till now. Have faith on it.
9. Expandability 8/10
I am only using single sim so I put in a 95mb/s 64gb micro-sd. the 128gb tooks some time to get fill up. Haven't try the USB OTG yet. I believe it should be sufficient for my usage for the time being.
10. Sound 6/10
its clear and crisp. phone ringing in noisy crowd might be abit soft but the vibration save the day. The stereo speaker is ok when youtubing or sharing the screen to others but wish it could be louder, oh well.
Verdict: only true Sony fan would appreciate the all-rounder build of this model. Although it lacks some selling point and the promised camera is underperform to certain extends. Also blame local Sony for not promoting it aggressively so I will be expecting that there will not be many people.
So... where's my bumper casing again
