ok. this will be like my first 12 hour usage experience with XZ. i will mostly be comparing with my old Z1

- first thing i notice is the screen. on the highest setting, it's brighter than Z1. on the lowest setting, it's dimmer than Z1 as well.
- the adaptive brightness seems to be too sensitive. it always adjust itself to the lowest setting when no direct light on it. causing the screen to be too dim. i end up switching it off.
- colour of the screen seems very punchy even after i switch off the x-reality. overall still looks better than my old Z1.
- speed... this beast is build for speed... everything seems very fast and smooth. all apps launched almost instantaneously.
- noticed some bloatware this time round like amazon, avg and zalora... cannot uninstall but fortunately can be easily disable.
- tap screen to wake doesn't seems to work all the time. double tap to sleep works flawlessly though.
- front facing stereo speaker! loving it! i used to cup my hand around the speaker whenever i am holding my Z1 watching video as the speaker is at the bottom. if not the sound will be like directed away from me and sounds very soft. now no more...
- Wifi... got to say it's very good. as soon as i switch it on, it'll straight away scan and connect to my house wifi in like 1 second... max 2 seconds.
- camera, miles ahead of my Z1. wasn't really expecting it to be that good actually. auto focus is fast generally, but not like 0.6s la...
- SA mode still seems to be grainy when zoom in closely. but then still much better than Z1
- the predictive focus seems to be working much better this time round than in the X. i managed to capture few shots of my 3yo moving around.
- i still prefer to use manual mode, with all settings in auto except the exposure level set to -0.3. the picture in this mode seems to be less grainy (same case as in my Z1)
- I still using 8MP as i think it's better than the full 23MP picture. but i still need more time to test this out.
- so for me right now, if i want to shoot moving object -> SA mode. for stationary object -> manual mode
- battery life is good thus far. as in my previous post, managed to get 5 hours SOT for today. my old z1, even with stamina mode on and greenified downloaded apps, only manage to tops 4hours+
- stamina mode seems to be different on XZ as i cannot put any apps in standby list anymore.

so, overall as of now, can really feel it's a huge upgrade for me coming from Z1.

I'm a former W810i, Xperia Play and Z user and 2 month ago my Z start to boot loop at the Xperia logo. Lazy to do the bypass kinda thing. So, RIP my Z and thank for serving me since 2012.

Then try jump to Samsung as Note 7 release that at that time. Love the phone becoz i like to sketch with it stylus. But hey, Samsung makes it RIP it self.

Now i'm considering to jump back to Sony. Is XZ the right one? Last time I heard not good recommendation on Xperia X line....

Guys, where can I find the file and folder? 1st timer for Sony phone after k750...I use laptop to transfer my contact file to download folder, but I can't find the folder through phone....

XZ is something for those who wasn't convinced with the X, so here's the owner

In my opinion, in some aspect this camera might not beat the S7 Edge, but somehow the camera has really wide angle lens to fit in more, what's more a much better front facing camera than those China phone can claim.

I use the app: ES file explorer. can browse local, sd, network too. sometimes I use it to stream my file server's "action love movie" (joking)

Means I need to install app to view my file n folder?

this time is quite reasonable, RM2699. allegedly thought that it will hit 3k mark, but no.
for camera, i can't comment much as i still havent open my phone yet but based on demo units, it is better than previous Xperia but almost comparable to Note 7.

at the moment, i would kindly advise to avoid glass sp for these godforsaken curved displays.
they are one of the few reasons i detest that i can't find a good glass protector. so, film will be a better choice for curved displays.

i haven't unbox my phone yet, so i can't comment anything yet.
but based on demo unit camera, definitely better than my Z2 for sure but almost comparable to Note 7.

and, just to share. Xperia XZ is just like a Nissan GTR, while the S7 Edge is like a Lamborghini LP720-4.

i see. i saw that video. thats something i would expect based on my last sony phone. light UI for smoother/faster response.
just concern camera and battery life.
if wanna get XZ need to buy before end of OCT. my cousin going to resign soon from Sony bangi. Pixel seems like still long way to go for purchase.

I've experienced XZ is extremely delay when Stamina mode is turned on, did you guys try with Stamina mode and having the same issue like me?

To improve the battery life they will underclock the processors speed. And delay would occur. Basically la on my opinions.

Looks like the alignment for the SIM is not perfect.

gonna get film for now, might switch to glass when imos's is available in the market

sim's probably damaged when i push it into the slot, tried to re-align it, still the same

Don't think it's damaged... looks alright, unless you sand papered the bottom part of the sim to make it thinner and damaged it?

My biggest worry now is if the pins for the SIM tray has been damaged.

why dont you try insert a confirmed working sim at that sim slot?

you are right about tap screen to wake. I use my thumb, so got improvement.

how to enable/use tap to sleep? mine doesn't seem to work
