QUOTE(tong1774 @ Feb 7 2007, 02:57 PM) Viosafc: I bought the TV cabinet. Earlier i purchased a Philips LCD TV as well, prior to the projector. Bought it from the Court Mammoth but returned coz i wasnt satisfied with the pic quality. Rugi the first payment only. Then i bought an Optoma EP716, which is a data projector but faulty. Finally, i got this H27 for less than 4K, and im satisfied with it for the such pic quality as compared to the price i have paid. Its definitely better than the LCD TV. The screen is a diy screen, made of some woods and a few feet of "Khaki" cloth...painted with greyish Jotun paint. Maybe id like to try that ICI Pentalite "Misty Evening" mentioned by Karyeowl. Wow your setup is nice, i like the way u decorate it, i like your tv cabinet very much. Where do u buy it and how much? Or u DIY it yourself? And DVD looks good even on a 480P projector. Should have bought a projector instead of LCD last year. Regreat! This post has been edited by viosafc: Feb 7 2007, 03:21 PM |

QUOTE(Criptonox89 @ Feb 7 2007, 03:58 PM) Very nice indeed...this is DIY or proposed by specialist? Most of the jobs were DIYs. Yup, the bulb is quite costly but its just the price we have to pay once ventured into the front projection screen. Did some maths, the most lets say 3 hrs per day, the bulb has been said to last for 3000 hrs. So...it will come to 2.5 yrs at least before the bulb gives away. Moreover, it is not necessarily that the bulb will go kaput as it reaches the 3000 hours mark. Though, the brightness will be less by then. One way...keep a piggy bank...whenever use the pj...put some money in lor. Appproximatley RM3 per hour. Hmm..one question from me...did you guys ever worried about the projector bulb life..? Is the bulb costly? This post has been edited by viosafc: Feb 7 2007, 05:40 PM |

You seemed to have eliminated the grey/black bar that is obvious in the pic but on in the rest. How did you do that?
There were some ambience lights, thus making the black bars visible. ![]() like in this pic It was taken in a completely dark room. Eliminating the visuals of the bars. ![]() This post has been edited by viosafc: Feb 10 2007, 03:30 PM |

QUOTE(carpathia @ Feb 12 2007, 06:42 PM) hmn......i see. but the diff is more subtle or is it very obvious? ive tried watching dvd on dell projectors and the blacks and colour is ok, not too bad. Prior to Optoma H27, i used to own an Optoma EP 716 (had it for a week), which is a data projector. The difference is quite distinctive. Black levels and colours are the two most distinguishable elements while comparing the two. When i first lighted up the H27, i simply went "WOW".... |
