For those who like to try something new...there is custom rom for GT1 posted at freaktab. Looks like it fix most of the bugs. Receive positive feedback as well.

Found a simple solution for GT1 dark screen issue. Using root explorer, go to System \ build.prop > modify service.bootvideo = 1. The boot animation will no longer show beelink animation but it fix the brightness. Now my box is perfect for my daily usage.

Yeah because it follow the bootvideo file in system/etc. You can change it if you want. I already change mine with other bootvideo

Any improvement besides reduce temp?

Original bootvideo file is in System/etc. Just take any video file you like (mp4 format) and rename it to bootvideo without file extension. Replace the original bootvideo. Make sure the video is in 720p. Higher than that i'm not sure it will cause boot problem or not. I'm using default launcher btw

No fix from beelink yet but got 2 option for temporary fix.

1) Play 4k file for few second each time you turn on the box
2) Enable bootvideo

for option no 2 not sure work for mx3 2 or not

GT1 new fimware update. Filesize quite big this time

Dark screen has nothing to do with Amcodec support

Can you try disable CEC and see if problem still there

Can you share what is the error message for the new update?

This box will only ship on March. Maybe reviewer will get this box earlier can give review. The hardware looks decent but firmware not sure since current GT1 also have a lot of problem.

Can you try install AOTG see if can play video without root enabled?

Oh no . Thanks for checking. Btw you test this while it is rooted or not? I saw the video earlier we can enable and disable root.
