Erm ... it's not like the nozomi train travels at a faster speed than the others, it's just that it stops at fewer stations. So you will still be able to experience how ... uneventful it is to sit on a shinkansen at (close to) 300km/h. Frankly it's a bit of a anti-climax LOL.

Transport in Tokyo itself shouldn't cost much. Excluding city to airport, around ¥500-¥600/person/day is plenty, so that should cost you around rm180/person for 8 days.

Once you start taking trains out of Tokyo though, then yes the cost can add up a bit particularly on the shinkansens.

don't bother with lake akan or anywhere else. 5d4n tokyo alone also not enough liao, especially since 1 or 2 days are taken up by disney.

note that disney got two parks - disneyland and disneysea. 1 day not enough to cover both parks.

avoid june, july, august -- these are the hot months. other than that should be OK. (dec/jan/feb is winter but it's not that cold).

No. In general JR pass only worth it if you do return trip to/from Kansai/Tokyo.

How old are you? Your Dec13 freaking ambitious, unless you very young and full of stamina, it'll be an extremely long and tiring day.
