Hello guys.

Anybody using this monitor from Acer? Just bought it yesterday. It is beautiful! But anyway, I checked their official website, it stated that there are built-in speakers on this monitor. I connected to my laptop as external display via HDMI, and there's no sound coming out at all. Tried with multiple HDMI cables including the one included in the box, no sounds. But when tried with all the same HDMI to my TV, there are sounds coming out on the TV! rclxub.gif

Err, tried with DVD/Blu-Ray player HDMI to the monitor? Otherwise, maybe need to RMA...

monitor speakers are worst then some laptop speakers...

unless its one of those dell or benq entertainment edition, those have slightly bigger cones.

Acer is famous for misleading customers with its 'variety' of 'model' with different set of 'features'.
I got 8 colleagues got burned by buying non g-sync xb240h (Asia version omitted g-sync feature, but still using same model number) , then show off saying their monitor support g-sync......until I tell them the truth..... wakakaka......5 of them still doesn't believe me.......and hated me for it..... cry.gif

This is universal truth, acer built-in speaker quality is really horrible. Even budget Logitech USB Speaker produces better sound quality than acer built-in speaker.

Dang. Well, lucky its just the speaker issue. The monitor itself is already beautiful with slim frame and IPS screen, so its good enough for me biggrin.gif

Did I tell you about different panel from different manufacturer being used for different regional market? (Pun on the word 'different' intended)

Example:
US/Europe market might use panel manufactured by CheMei.
Asia market might use panel manufacturered by AU Optronics.

So, just because the reviewer in US said the panel is great....doesn't mean our Asia variant might be the same.

The best part is BAIT AND SWITCH.
First batch monitor ---> Best quality panel + best quality control + best electronic component (Solid state capacitor made in Japan)
Second batch monitor ----> Cheaper panel with a lot of issues (non-uniform backlighting, dead pixel) + No quality control + made in China no name/brand capacitor.
This second batch monitor still sold at same price similar to the first batch price....
