still seeing clash of roles in matic-kante combo albeit its improving seeing matic going forward more.

for goodness sake play ivan as CB, lucky kante was there to cover, pandai naik atas lambat turun bawah. age has catching up with him

regardless whether we get a new CB or not keeping zouma is no brainer. he has been a constant performer in the defense dept + speed (tell that to terry + cahill + ivan aging legs)

i do agree that matic+kante combo seems to defensive but we need to be wary as well on our defensive frailty, hence matic+kante makes perfect sense. unfortunately this combo also flawed in terms of creativity and our reliance on hazard, oscar , willian/pedro.

lets see if JT unavailable against pool and who would conte field for CB and for DM. im rooting for luiz and fab but i got the feeling we will see matic again until he feels our defensive unit is ready for it.

since defense is shite now just throw in the wild card. at least we know how good this alonso guy who can play anywhere in the back 4.

from the looks of it all goals coming from the same side, which is his. then again okazaki should have been marked by either CBs. comical defending if you asked me. i think this is why conte played with 2 ultra DMs in front of 4, but to hell with with it if we can score more than the opposite team why not. fabsy as MOTM to me

no he was ok, covering his side, however in my opinion the CB pairing failed to contained foxes forward. its weakness of zonal marking i guess.

taking the positive note, formation wise we did change from 424 to 4141 which in the half we really see fab's involvement in attack more that leads to 2nd goal and many missed chances

agreed on the hole but as u can see pedro did (unsuccessfully) cover the hole
