Queries Is replying to a compliment is an indirect bump?

As the above topic, in garage sales, if we reply to someone's compliment about the item & service, is that consider indirect bump?
I mean reply by saying, "thank you, nice to deal with you' or 'sorry for the delay of the shipping' or whatever.

That is fine, but of course it will depend on the occasion. Usually, the benefit of doubt will be given to you.
