Think so.
1st installation last for nearly 4 years. That time is another installer, better.
2nd installation (claim warranty), scratches, replaced in 3rd installation. This is from a ready cut piece.
3rd installation (claim 2nd installation warranty) , workmanship problem. From a new roll, but this time round workmanship problem.

2nd and 3rd claimed warranty. 2nd and 3rd from a clumsy installer, new guy, not so meticulous type.

Don't know want to go back 4th times (actually multiple visits already) to at least feedback to the boss. Probably when I am free and drop by and inquire for better workmanship. I think better change to another 3M shop.
In term of heat rejection, last time I read 3M is one of the leading one. However, to get a shop with proper workmanship is a big problem. Probably I can visit the shop for 4th time and try to argue with the boss but what is the point? It is a waste of time and money (time is money).

Yes, it can be done on one side only but probably you won't get a package price.

Hi, all, as a consumer, I have to share my experience with 3m autofilm. Merely close to 4 years usage, the tinted has a lot of tiny "crystallite" spots on the film at the windscreen. Other than affecting the vision, especially at night, when the opposite vehicles using high beam, these tiny spots will cause halo and make surrounding area not visible, increase the risk of blind spots. Film still under warranty and it is not a matter of replacement but the faith on the product itself. Btw, I installed at the authorized dealer. I believe I read about this before yet I chose 3M last time, my own fault as well. Unfortunately no doubt the warranty provides new tinted film for me after close to 4 years of usage, once bitten twice shy, 3M will be in my black list. Lesson learned, one established brand is good in one product line doesn't mean for other as well.

To add: just read this thread carefully before commit. Do not know it is the film itself that has problem or the installer.  :x

I suffered the same fate though I am using 3M tint but not their cyrstalline series. The front windscreen tint became blurry all of a sudden as though it was being windscreen is covered by condensation which makes driving not visible. I have been using this tint for 8 years.

Both my cars got this problem only within 1-2 years, both from ex-3M Ampang. Both claimed, one with same shop, the other with Kepong shop. The one with same shop, problem came back after about a year and I just put other tinting. The one claimed at Kepong shop, still working fine till today.

The problem is like this. The tint will suddenly be blurry as if there is condensation / oil, and you can't wipe it away.

Notes: Crystalline 70

Hi folks, sorry to dig out a thread here.

I actually have 3m tinted installed on my Honda civic fc since new 3 years ago
front - 3m crystalline 70
Other - 3m crystalline 50

My front windscreen crystalline 70 seems to suffers the same issue similar as described by you guys previously

The tinted start to be blurry out of sudden, Im seeing "Halo" when looked into other car light, brake light, lamp.
vision gets very bad and tiring to drive at night..

I had the same problem, same front ws, 2 years ago and had it replace under same dealer where originally installed ONLY after I contact 3m HQ for warranty(because the dealer said it is normal...).

Is this some kind of common problem with 3m crystalline 70 and this seems to only happens to fws?

Im think should I replace it with another brand or just claim warrantly again.. rclxub.gif

Hi.
How much for tinting whole Proton Persona 2010?
Preference:
1) JPJ/PDRM compliance
2) VLT/IRR/TSER/UV 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
3) no need security as heat performance is sought.
Thanks.

Malaysia is so hot and sunny... Even with top Class film from best company you will feel the heat if you follow JPJ spec.... BTW Menteri car didn't follow JPJ spec.

It's true that removing the rear windscreen film may damage the demister. Some shops are better at this than others but given the poor workmanship of this shop I wouldn't risk it. If you can't live with the lousy tint go to a good tinting shop and ask them to remove it. However no shop will guarantee that the demister won't be damaged. If the demister is damaged you need to replace the glass.

But we wont use that demister once we apply any film... virtually its "Damaged" too... LOL

Update: Received a call from 3M and was told that they have terminated Fortitude Auto as their dealer earlier. My case is not the first.

Also, they do not want to be responsible for the cheating case where Fortitude Auto stated as 4mil safety tint. They just told me they will replace the back tint with CS20 as stated in warranty, that's all.

I think its fair for the 3M side... Afterall its your installer who cheat you NOT 3M.

Suspect being cheated..got bubble within a year on rear windscreen. Complained to dealer and was told if claim warranty the rear window heater line will break. Isnt they suppose to protect it? Appreciate your advise guys

sound like taici or a non-competent installer. I had changed my rear tint due to a long time ago jpj vlt requirement and for a car name change. no issue to remove the rear windscreen tint by the tint shop, i paid them rm50

Guys, anyone who wanted to do 3M tint, please be careful. I'll share my experience with 3M tint here.

I just would like to give review on the 3M tint that was installed for me last year by Fortitude Auto Ampang. I ask for recommendation from Rayven since i'm not familiar with tint. My requirement is the highest TSER and darkest (i don't mind if it's not JPJ compliant). Hence he recommended CS20 (4 windows and back windscreen) and CS35 (front windscreen) and told me it is safety film which i agreed.

After the installation, here where the nightmare came. I realized there is a lot of bubbles and dirt trap inside the window film. Front windscreen, back windscreen and 3 windows! Basically they only did well in 1 window  bangwall.gif I made a complain and soon i received a call from 3M representative and appointment was made between me and the representative for inspection. He admit that it was workmanship problem and suggest i send back to Fortitude Auto Ampang. I proceed to make an appointment on Rayven and go all the way to Ampang. When i reached there, guess what? He have no stock for CS35 and told me he will call me once the stock arrived. Upon inspection, he told me that if he were to removed the tint on the back windscreen, most likely the demister will be damaged and he can't do anything about it. Mind u, the car i sent is brand new so i can't risk that. So basically what they are trying to say is if demister damage - your problem, not theirs. Hence, i have no choice but to live with the defect of dirt and bubbles on the back windscreen.

And of course, he never did call me to replace the tint on my front windscreen which he does not have stock. Again, have to live with the defect of dirt in the tint of my front windscreen.
Why do i bring it up now? Because recently, i realized the tint on the back windscreen started to peel off a little and when i check further on the tint, i realized that the back tint was not CS20 as agreed! it was actually CS35! I even further confirm this on another 3M dealer near my office. This is definitely cheating! The below is the receipt and the warranty from 3M, stated at the back is CS20 but it was CS35 instead. And here comes another best part, color stable is not a safety film 4mil as stated in the receipt.

So here i am i, driving with tint that contains bubbles and dirt trapped inside the front and back windshield. And there is also dirt trapped inside the driver's window side as well.  shakehead.gif

As for the quality of the tint, i realized my car is very hot compared to my other friends who are using non-branded tint and pay much more lesser. Upon checking the specification for CS20/35, i realized that the tint has no IRR rejection as stated in their website. So that is the reason why it is still so hot even after paying premium price for the tint. This i have to admit is my own fault for not checking the specification of the tint before i agree.

Update with phone numbers of scammers:
Rayven 012-5249488 and Amelia 012-4847844
They have even cheated customer by selling premium Crystalline tint and applying their own in-house brand tint to unsuspected buyers.

Hi bro, are you able to find a resolution? i got almost the exact same problem as you. got my 3M tint installed in a 3M authorized tint shop and alot of bubbles appear on my rear windscreen. i went to seek for warranty in the 3M dealer and was told the exact same thing as you, that the demister will be broken if they remove the tint ! I suspect the tint is not original 3M as i am not there when they do the installation. Appreciate your advise if your able to get your matter resolve. Thanks!

Just check your email as 3M is no longer giving out the warranty card anymore. They will send the warranty information to your email when you tint 3M tinted film. The authorised 3M shop should inform you about this.

Cheers!

Called 3M and verified that my warranty card is not 3M. The 3M authorize dealer told me the same thing. I'm going to bring this to tribunal office. Even 3M dealer could do this. Unbelievable.
