It's fine. You are in good company; Jay Leno's fabulous chin always sticks out of the bottom of his helmets and he's still riding strong

QUOTE(cyh03176 @ Apr 26 2017, 04:21 PM) Riding in group..really depends on the people in the group. Too big a group also kinda boring IMO.The group I've been joining lately is ok so far, more mature and focused on nice chill riding without insane speeds or antics that belong on the track. They're also good at staying in a group and have experienced sweepers and leaders. Only issue so far is that they tend to keep to a really tight schedule when travelling while I'm the sort of guy who prefers to take in the scenery and chill out at R&Rs with a burger or something while en route to the destination. IMO a group of 3-5 bikes is just right. Here's some good reading to help make group rides fun: http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/pace http://www.sportrider.com/sportbike-riding...g-skills-series http://www.cycleworld.com/2013/09/16/becom...g-skills#page-4 |

Guys, in the UK there's such thing as 'motorcycle-friendly' hotels, motels etc. Is there any equivalent in KL? Going there in May for a concert and am looking for a place to stay 1 night, preferably near KL Life Centre on Jln Sultan Ismail.

Guys, anyone selling a GIVI top box rack for 2011 ER6N? No attached top box necessary, just want the rack to fit my own box. Tried ordering at GIVI Point in Penang but it's been two weeks and no news -.-

Still no luck with finding a top box rack. Anyone have any positive/negative experience with a custom-made rack (with GIVI mounting plate)? So far the only online mention I can find of an ER6n with a custom rack (in Thailand) ended with the rack breaking at speed due to shoddy construction

QUOTE(Hades76 @ May 7 2017, 11:13 AM) Deadwolf, what bike you have ? I had a custom side boxes bracket made in Chai Highspeed bikes in Balakong. They lasted be for 5 years during my ownership with no problems. If your bike is rare, the can custom make the brackets, however have to leave the bike there for a week I think for them to think about it. But they will use original Givi plates, just the brackets are custom. 2011 ER6n |

After about 2 months of commuting every day and a couple of long trips, I'm thinking of downsizing my ER6n to a CB500x. Kinda feel like the latter is better suited my riding style and needs.
Any CB500x riders here who can comment on parts availability, bike reliability and other noteworthy things that should be mentioned about the CB500x? This post has been edited by deadwolf: Jul 20 2017, 11:13 AM |

QUOTE(Mubarak90 @ Jul 20 2017, 01:59 PM) Not a CB500X user, but I do see that it's one of the more popular 500cc bike from Honda. One of the thing that they noted to me was this bike uses 3-4 bottles of engine oil, which puts the maintenance side of things, a little bit pricier. Interesting...true enough, a quick Google shows that the CB500x has a 3.2L oil capacity vs the ER6n's approx 2.4L capacity. However, the CB500x manual supposedly states oil/oil filter change interval at something like every 8,000 miles (US forum), which might balance things out? Currently changing my ER6n's oil/filter every 4,000km.This post has been edited by deadwolf: Jul 20 2017, 02:47 PM |

QUOTE(Cyphereza @ Jul 20 2017, 03:10 PM) Not a CB500X nor ER6N user, but I thought you should change oil filter every time you change oil? Anyway, maintenance wise I think almost the same if not more. You could be saving on fuel tho, 471cc vs 649cc. Yup, leaving the old oil filter in (which is full of all the crap it has removed from the old oil) will just introduce said crap into the new oil Judging from Fuelly, the CB500X gets almost the same fuel economy as my old Ninja 250r...ER6n doesn't come close, especially for commuting in the city where most of its power doesn't get used anyway. QUOTE(ciwi1166 @ Jul 20 2017, 03:16 PM) Hahaha I wish...could use some of that 4-cylinder smoothness right now. |

QUOTE(Jylova @ Jul 21 2017, 02:40 PM) I've ridden the cb500x. Borrowed a friend bike and ride to cameron. On low speed below 130kmh the bike is wonderful, soft suspension, brakes are good, comfy seats. Above 130kmh tho jadi kerusi ogawa the whole bike vibrates, stock windscreen is not good enough for me even at highest position still got wind buffer. This is my experience lah. Others may differ. Thanks for the info! That's...a bit of a concern. One of my favourite things about the ER6n was how stable and comfortable it was at 140kmh+. Would probably have to readjust riding style to suit, lol. How tall are you? Screen height seems to be a very personal thing, need to find out myself as well.QUOTE(Mubarak90 @ Jul 21 2017, 04:11 PM) The average MPG from this bike, is around 63, which is double from my current Ninja 250R (2009 model). You may refer here : Wow, that's nuts. Always impresses me when some bigger engine manages to equal or beat 250cc on fuel consumption. I was considering the MT-07 as well due to its light weight and similar fuel consumption...but now want something with longer suspension travel for the 'roads' here in Penang haha.http://www.fuelly.com/motorcycle/honda/cbr500r (this is from the CBR model, but should be the same) Currently, both Honda's 250 and 500 cc bikes actually have great fuel consumption, compared to Kawasaki's or Yamaha's bike. Here, belanja you 1 picture. [attachmentid=8980369] That bike in your pic has the Rally Raid kit fitted, developed by an ex-Dakar racer. Full kit is like upgraded suspension, spoked wheels and other tasty stuff. The cost would probably make such a kit a long-term goal though. QUOTE(Icehart @ Jul 22 2017, 03:06 AM) Honda Y U NO make a CB650X? Something to fight the Versys 1000 would be cool...hehe |
