Looks like is just the same as putting into GIA account

So is back to Hong Leong & RHB at 4% 12 months. Anyone had experience with RHB premier wealth & its benefits?

Maybank just contacted me to join premier wealth after almost a year & am already preparing to move out most of my funds!

asking for a relative... if he got RM30k to deposit which bank is the best ya?

Seems like Public Bank (as below link)? This is the best for him? He's willing to deposit for a year due to busy life currently.

I actually just mentioned Hong Leong & RHB at 4% 12 months is the best at the moment.
Hong Leong has the best convenience once you have opened an online account though

The premier wealth u refer to is Aspire?
*
There are 3:
Aspire
Premier Wealth
Private Wealth

Aspire has the lowest .to qualify for it & does not seem to offer much.

I was meaning Premier Wealth.

I was all prepared to join RHB premier wealth by end of the month, then I can join in the bandwagon to get a share of the introducer fee.

However, since Maybank's RM is quite desperate to pull me to join their premier wealth despite me not giving me decision yet, I just got an insider news from him that 16 October onwards there will be a GIA promotion of 4.1% for 12 months.

Anyone can verify this?

PM me your name and contact number. After i join RHB premier wealth I will introduce you. However there is no guarantee as bro Bbgoat mentioned must be investment product. We just try our chances as the TNC never mention this.

My question to RHB is who will ever make a RM200k investment product for a mere RM388 incentive?
*
Let me check it out further for RHB.

I am 1 foot into Maybank premier wealth already so may not go for RHB since my funds are already in Maybank at the moment.

For Maybank premier wealth, besides RM 250k deposit requirement, I will need to open a current account with initial deposit of RM10k but only RM1k needs to be earmarked while the rest can be withdrawn immediately.

I will ask Maybank what other special benefits like dinner/events or free membership

QUOTE(lowya @ Oct 10 2016, 02:15 PM)
Update:

1. HLB 4% need 2 extra product to be eligible, so it's not pure FD.

2. RHB 12m quota finished

3. end up with Maybank 4mths 3.6%, and expecting better promo in next few months..

also just realized that the FD cert printed by Maybank did not have the word "Fixed Deposit" to clearly state the type of document it prints.

Funny how our biggest bank print a receipt that doesn't state clearly what document it is. Look at your Maybank FD cert and you will be shocked. Don't ask me why it took me so long to noticed it.
*
If you place online in Maybank's GIA account at 1 month 3.6% p.a, then wait till 15 or 16th to see if the 4.1% 12 months GIA is really true or not. That way, you are still earning interest till that date at 3.6% p.a.

I will report back when the time comes as I am looking for a new promo by the 26 Oct when my last year's GIA account matures.

QUOTE(lowya @ Oct 10 2016, 03:38 PM)
GIA has 2 types, one is Campaign (promo), the other is normal.

Currently Maybank Conventional 4 months has 3.6%, all else GIA has lower rate.

Where do you get the 4.1%? source?

Please note: GIA Campaign (remember the one with step up rates?) will not be affected by OPR change during the FD term, whereas GIA normal will be affected by OPR change. This, even the staff don't know, that accounts to some error in the past someone mentioned here before.
*
Ok, I have been silently reading here on the changes of the GIA normal monthly rates, it does fluctuate even without the change in OPR.

At the moment till 15 October, it is 3.6% as shown here:
http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...al/ACC-Accounts

4.1% was informed by my RM but he didn't mentioned full details like quota & expiry but fresh funds are not required.

That's why I will look for him on the 17 October to confirm this promotion.

QUOTE(lowya @ Oct 10 2016, 04:00 PM)
i wasn't referring the GIA normal rate fluctuation, i know it goes up and down.. but i think you didn't get my point, i was trying to say, example:

lets say last year you placed GIA (Campaign Promo) for 12 months at 4.5% rate, you should still be getting 4.5% nett p.a. this year during maturity, even though the OPR was reduced drastically recently.

the same does NOT apply to GIA (normal aka non-promo).

Hope that is clear.
*
Thank you for further explaining, I did understand your point earlier. Not sure if I remembered correctly or not but there may have been some forumers who said they got less than the stated monthly rate during the OPR change.

For my promo GIA last year, I think I am still getting the same promo rate, but didn't calculate recently though.

Bad news guys, just found out 12 months promo GIA has ended last Friday!
Though the link is still shown after logging into Maybank2u but just to be safe I went to ask at the branch, they said the quota is finished for this month nationwide.

Apparently there will be a fresh quota allocated next month

I got the promo rate... so its a "yes".  smile.gif

According to my branch,
6 months promo rate still available
12 months promo rate not available

I did a placement for 12 months 2 days ago & also cannot see the rate so should be no promo rate, it seems quite confusing.

confusion!

maybank 12 month 4.1% gia-i and rhb 12 mth 4%, still got or no more? hmm.gif
*
No more, for RHB is confirmed no more.

For Maybank, I went to 2 branches, they confirmed no more be it online or physical placement as there is 1 quota for the whole country. You may try at your own risk since no rate is stated.

QUOTE(aromachong @ Oct 28 2016, 06:10 PM)
4.1% must locked in for a year and cannot withdraw less than year right?
*
For any tenure in GIA, you can put in & take out anytime & still have the rate quoted for 1 month & prorated accordingly. I was even advised by Maybank staff to place my funds in this manner.

I experimented last month when the quota finished & placed 12 months GIA.

If the promo has ended, no italic i will be displayed at all.

But they didn't state it in the tnc on quota calculated based on month..

Correct, I don't think is stated in the tnc but I found out from one of the officers about allocation of some quota every 1st of the month until the promo ends.

I have not go into MBB GIA-i 4.1% and instead went to OCBC 3.95% and Alliance Bank 4%. It is just pseudo FD for me.  biggrin.gif

Went to BR today to collect year end gift
They have extended its 12 mths promo FD @ 3.95% to 31/12/2016
*
I have been waiting for 1st of the past 2 months to put funds at GIA account too.

But out of curiosity I thought going BR to ask for both diary & nego rate.
Besides the 3.95% promo rate, I actually managed to get 4% nego rate for RM100k or above for being an Xclusive member.

*Hint* if you're an xclusive member & in klang valley, go to BR HQ at Brickfields, they have lots of diary & calendar stock there.

In 6 months lots can happen looking at the current economy now, 12 months or more is still a safer haven in my opinion.
