Sorry for being off-topic. I know this is not directly related to FD but I would just like to share this news about the cancer-stricken uncle selling Pokemon outside HSBC in Damansara Uptown. LinkIf you happen to be near that area doing your FDs or other banking transactions, maybe can help him out by buying toys from him. You can keep the toys yourself or gift it to your friends or family. You might even present it as a gift to bank staff for thanking them for their help. Hahaha. It would help the uncle and good for your karma too. Then maybe can get very good FD promos later on. Btw, I am not affiliated with the uncle in any way.

QUOTE(drbone @ Sep 22 2016, 11:28 AM) Thanks a lot! Just put into GIA, now just gotta wait for the returns. But based on our discussions, looks like OCBC 360 savings account is a better choice? OCBC 360 is a better choice if the amount in the account is big as the difference in interest would be more than any cashback lost for credit card spending. This is for people who save more in the account than spend on the credit card. QUOTE(Ramjade @ Sep 23 2016, 01:55 AM) For those who want to earn >4%. A little fight to see who's the best. Below is Maybank eGIA-i (save RM2k) + Maybank Ikhwan card (spending of RM1k/month) vs OCBC 360 full 4.1%(save RM2k) + any OCBC CC (spending of RM1k/month) - - - - - - - - - - - - - The reason for no CB is OCBC CB is particularly zero. Not all OCBC cards' cash back is close to zero. The min. spending on OCBC CC to qualify for bonus interest is RM500 only, not RM1,000.

QUOTE(michaelchang @ Dec 7 2016, 02:53 PM) I think all RHB branch can place FD at 4.1%, yesterday I place at JB branch. So disappointed with Maybank, they only allow $100K withdrawal per day using Cashier's order, cash only $25K.. I think maybank might be running out of funds... Is that branch your home branch? If it is, then there should not be any limit for withdrawal by cashier's order or even by cash. Unless they change their policy recently. If you cannot withdraw all your money from your home branch, you can complain to Bank Negara. It is your money after all. QUOTE(LawrenZza @ Dec 8 2016, 10:47 AM) May I know what's affin fd promo rate for now? Anyone heard of HSBC bank 5% for 3 months welcome program? What's your opinion on the best fd rate now.. You can check out this blog for more info on the HSBC 5% promo. There are other FD promotions there too.
