You could unlock unofficially but you have a chance of bricking it. Rotting with a unofficially unlocked bootloader is not recommended. In short, to be on safe side, always proceed the official unlock method.

You better off use the official method if you can't bear the risk of bricking phone. So far I'd never heard of flashing CM13 with unofficial unlock bootloader but if you willing to be the white rat, you could do so.

If you can download the tool after login, you have the approval.
For the second question, I'm not sure about that
Worse case scenario, you have to use test point method to revive your phone.

Updating via updater is not recommended.
Unless you want to unlock officially, you don't really need to lock it back.

I believe since you have root access, you could block updater from connecting to the server but I forgot the steps.

It does not support fast charging officially. You could use custom kernel to achieve quick charge 2.0 but it might damage your phone in long term.

Just flashed 6.9.15 by xiaomi.eu, battery life is better than 6.8.11. Pretty impressive.

Because initial setup when entering phone is Gmail ABC. Then I removed the ABC and add XYZ..
ABC was removed and account get deleted.
Locale: Indonesia
Preferred network: Only 3G preferred & 2G listed. No LTE
I searched net and it is because of Indonesia locate and its regulation issue?
Due to Indonesian regulatory, if you have locale set to Indonesia, 4G will be disabled.
