Hi all...just to ask anyone who could help me....
This man sell a used 19' Viewsonic LCD monitor for RM 450... I ask for COD in Shah Alam (His mother's house) but ask me to deposit 1st 50% upfront then only can COD...agreed and deal to take the LCD at 22/01/2007 (Monday) 8.00 pm at his mother's house. Give me details as below

After i banked in the RM 200 as deposit, i go to find address as he give to me but there's no house as per address...I've tried to call him so many times but cannot get through...sms and no reply...till today when i call, still no answer...

If anyone know this guys, just told him to refund my money. That's all. I give him 1 week then after that i'll make a police report...

If any other forumers got ways to track this guys...please PM me...Tq very much..

He ask me to collect the LCD at his mother's house at Section 17, Shah Alam...as per deal, i go to collect the LCD...Jalan Tongsan is there but the house number until 55 only...no house with no 152... just now i call him...same one..no answer and reject my call

this is obviously some sort of con job. Just go report to police. Don't give chance for this guy to get away. At least you bank-in the money into this "fiancee" account. So can track from there.

Fuyooo....very much optional action to be taken...hehehe... maybe i'll try madstone idea...hehehe.... btw im not yet make police report...still want to hear from him... recently i've got another LCD price range like his offer...so that's why i act fast but i didn't bank in straight away...coz im going back to kampung hehe... then on my way return to city, i've bank in coz his keep sms me... My advice, never buy things on behalf of your friend because if the deal goes wrong, you'll end up coughing out your money to payback to your friend, unless you're selling for a profit but if you're buying for your friend for free, then really not worth it lah. Next time, they give so much deposit lah, it doesn't make sense why must pay half for deposit, even I order something expensive, I just pay RM50 enough liao.

doesn't make sense if you pay 50% for deposit as the deposit is just to make sure that you dun FFK

btw i wonder if we can lodge a police report then take the report to the telco company and check his particulars ???

You have forgotten one thing, there are loopholes in the registration system for prepaid lines, I could write whatever I like on the form so wouldn't you think that the person who conned you could do so. It's not like they'll ask for your MyKad and fill in the details for you. For Maxis, they just give you a form, after you write your name, address, blah, blah and number, that's all ........ With such a system, I seriously doubt you can nab any criminals including Ah Longs.

wait, that LCD at RM400, is too low bro. quite obvious he wanna lure in people to con with. and some more he ask u to pay deposit 50%, any reason for him to do that if he is doing COD?

If he asked for RM50, it's okay lah, I'm sure he won't take the trouble to create an account here, post this, post that to cheat 50 bucks because seriously, it's not worth it. But a few hundred ringgit is way too much for a deposit.

We have that in the above links.The problems lies on the buyer itself. They never check, or do self precautions. This is the Malaysian attitude that we need to get rid off. Always when the pot was hit, then they grumbles. Yes, no matter where are they, or even safe trader tag is given, do self checking. Prevention can be done from buyer side itself.

If you think positively, yes but if you think negatively, it's a big no because of our privacy, I'm sure you have heard of people including telco companies selling our personal info to these so called telemarketing companies, right? Yeah, that's what I'm hinting at. It can lead to abuse sometimes.

Mobile phone numbers are so disposable. If we want to do anything involving phones, we'd do it with landlines. Anyway, read the FAQ on collecting personal information from forumers. The consensus is that we're not doing it.

I really would like to know how the heck u manage to reach the address u mentioned..Also for the record, there is no secondary school nearby, only primary school. There is a vocational secondary school but way on the other part of seksyen 17.

I lived near that area and I can concur to the forum that there is a JALAN TONGSAN 17/18 at section 17 (two rows of single storey link house)but no such thing as JALAN TONGSAN 2/6 Section 17.

FYI, in Shah Alam whatever the road name, if it is is in certain section, then the numeric must also be the same number..e.g Jalan Landak Dua 20/13B Seksyen 20 or Jalan Platinum Tiga 7/30C Seksyen 7
I am sure other fellow LYN member who lives in shah alam can confirm this

So, when u mention u went there but house number only til 55..Sorry for my suspicion and don't mean to doubt you too, but I was scratching my head how u can find a non-existence address?? IMHO if we were to file a complain on someone, we must get our fact accurate and correct...so if you typo wrongly, better rectify it.

ad2000, its not wrong typo...the address above is the same address give by the seller...I've been to Jalan Tongsan 17/18. Just to make sure, i tried to ask someone lived there and they ask house number there only till 55...no such no 152.
