Halo 3 Beta invitation confirms Crackdown disc needed

If you were planning on tossing Microsoft's upcoming supercop sim shortly after using the included Halo 3 Beta key, you'd best restrain your throwing arm. Shizzle Games has posted an image of Crackdown's included invite card -- it clearly lays out that the Halo 3 Beta code is both downloaded and launched via the game's main menu. With no dashboard option, you'll have to keep your Crackdown disc for as long as you want to take part in Bungie's practice run.

Luckily, Crackdown's recent Xbox Live demo has greatly weakened the game's early reputation for being Master Chief's ball-and-chain. See the full invite card after the break.

Crackdown began its life as an open sandbox game from former Grand Theft Auto gurus, spent its mid-life as a marketing experiment for Halo 3, and is kicking back as one of the best Xbox 360 games to date. But this critically-acclaimed sci-fi masterpiece isn't quite ready to retire to the DVD rack.

We are on the brink of a trifecta of goodies for Crackdown from Realtime worlds and Microsoft, including a title update and both free and pay downloadable content nuggets. We know what you're thinking: "Hey TeamXbox.com...how can an already great game become even greater?" That's a simple task if you're Realtime Worlds.

For Crackdown, Realtime diligently follow the post-launch forum chatter and attempted to address all of the concerns with the base game, while at the same time adding new content to keep it all fresh. There are also some items that perhaps didn't make the final cut for Crackdown's original launch (time constraints will do that to a project of this magnitude) but have been prepared and thrown into the upcoming DLC code. However it actually came about, Crackdown's Title Update, Free-for-All" and "getting' Busy" packs are a win-win for those allied to the Agency.

So without further ado, here is what to expect when Crackdown's downloads come on air...

    * Impound all the chosen vehicles and store them in the Agency Garage
    * 40 Gamerscore



Psych Out *

    * Complete all Time Trial missions at the Psychotic Difficulty level
    * 100 Gamerscore



Stockpile Supreme **

    * Complete any Stockpile mini-game in less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
    * 10 Gamerscore



Flippin' Crazy **

    * Complete three flips of any type in a single jump in any vehicle
    * 20 Gamerscore



Body Armor **

    * Use the Harpoon gun to attach five corpses to a single vehicle
    * 10 Gamerscore



Street Racer ***

    * Win all Street Races using any vehicle
    * 20 Gamerscore



Street Racer Elite ***

    * Win all Street Races using all available vehicles
    * 150 Gamerscore



* Available with Free DLC
** Available when one player has Premium DLC
*** Available only with Premium DLC

I was playing Crackdown when after 4 hours every achievement unlocked putting me up to 900 gamerscore

huhuhuhu... i was the victim fo crackdown's game save killer.. whn i dwnloaded the new content.. played co-op wit unkool and i tried the key to the city mode.. bam.. my game save overwritten.. his game save wasnt affected..  i forgot to save.. plus, ddnt even read the thread on this..   

my stats are all back to zero... whn i check the in-game achievements.. the ones i've completed are still there.. with 4 more rooftop races to go.. i finished them up and no achievemnt.. i redid the whole rooftop races and finally got it..

agility orb obtained in 2 hours.. hahaha.. all 500 of em.. easier than the first time... before i was affected, i was left with 499 agility orbs..

replayed the whole game n finished it in 8 hours.. with 150 more hidden orbs to go.. all my stats are at level 4... stunt markers, and a few new achievements left for me to unlock..

eventho i was really pissed dat i haf to start over, im really thankful in a way.. huhuhu.. and all the gamerscore points fo crackdown are legit..

abt the game saves.. i think it has something to do with the new title update.. in order for affected game saves to be recovered..

haha.. no need guide la.. as for the races, its pretty straight forward.. its pretty easy to find.. just look for a purple,green beam/gate... huhuhu.. jst got the hidden orbs.. all 300 of em.. took me 3 hours..
