because i'm busy over the next few month until middle of march

so it won't be worth it

if i do that i could repeatedly learn new stuff and the UI thingy and stuff

the servers aren't connected. for instance, if u play on 1 server and a friend is playing on another server u cant play together.

i currently have a character on Hydraxis and planning to start a new one in Thaurissan or whichever server the LotH guild decide so i can play with other malaysians.

the lag depends on the connection. i average 700 - 800ms latency on Hydraxis in the daytime and midnight till dawn i get 400 - 600ms. if i get over 1000ms latency i disconnect and reconnect to change ip.

UI? u mean user interface or something else?

i have never used the zboard b4 so i cant comment here. if u have money to burn i guess u can go get it. i personally dont see the need of the zboard.

servers are not connected. what you have on this server is for this server only.

wat do u mean by dota lagness? like if u lag, other ppl will get a waiting for <player> msg? then no, if u lag, it's u alone only. other ppl will not be affected by your lag.

UI stands for user interface, they way the buttons are placed in your screen. u can get custom UI at www.curse-gaming.com dunno if they are still there or not coz i left the game 6 months ago but recently decided to play again.

zboard isnt worth it imo unless you are hardcore and with lots of cash to burn tongue.gif

better try oceanic server. go for any new server as you can get lots of new players starting out and can get lots of new ppl leveling together.

you have to choose either to go for pve, pvp or rp-pvp server.

pve = mostly for pve oriented players with occasional pvp

pvp = for players who like pvp and pve together

rp-pvp = the so called "polite" pvp server. no trash talking and doing stuffs that might disrupt other ppl's gaming experience.

Yes, you can play WoW without TBC expansion.

Yes, you can upgrade your Trial into the full version by applying online with a credit card. This means you can continue playing your trial character.

If you buy the boxed set, you automatically get free 30 days.

No, the characters you create are tied to the server you are on. Your character on A server won't be available on B, C or D servers. However, there is a way called Paid Transfers which you can move your existing character to another server, within certain conditions. This costs money and has a limit of 6 months per character. Most people prefer to make new characters on another server.

There are several types of servers, broadly they are divided into Normal and PvP servers. PvP server means you are free to kill (or get killed) opposing faction players in contested areas.

bontotalan, goto the WoW website. There's a lot of information there as well as links to other help guides that may help you out. Including starting Newbie guides.

also, you're going to spend a lot of time reading about strategies and planning what to do next. Get used to it. tongue.gif

Playing Wow without BC : You can do everything but :

1) Goto Outlands. That needs lvl 58 anyways, not 60.
2) Play Draenei and Blood Elves. Those come with the expansion.
3) Play the new instances in Azeroth that is in the BC expansion.
4) Goto Ghostland, the new Lvl 11-20 area. It's near the Eastern and Western Plaguelands.

You can still do some of the Draenei quests in Azeroth provided their not in Draenei or Blood Elves starting lands. New loot can be used as well.

PvP vs. PvE (Normal) realms. Difference is that in PvE you do not get attacked by other players while you're questing. In PvP you're allowed to. PvP can be frustrating for first timers but if you enjoy retaliation, then it's the server for you. Note that PvP characters aren't allowed to be transfered to PvE.

RP realms. "Polite" realms is true but you also have to speak in "role-playing" mode i.e. no speaking the way we're doing now.

Oceanic vs. US servers. Timing is better if you're looking for people to group with and for raiding, for Oceanic (set to Sydney time). For US servers, you have to wake up earlier. Problem with Oceanic servers is that population is lower compared to US servers.

Leveling : http://www.wow-pro.com . Just to ease the frustrations. smile.gif Else goto http://www.wowwiki.com

You didn't read the WoW website like I told you too. tongue.gif

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com

Left bar --> Class --> Class Links --> Look for Talent Builds.

Tier 1-6 are different armor types based on different classes (or jobs).

Playing WoW is also about studying quite a fair bit. tongue.gif

Taiwan Fiber Outage
Update 26 January 2007

Cable Repair Ship Operators Predict Further Delays

A single cable repair can take about seven days but on this mission, most operators are quoting a 10-day repair period. With about eight separate cable systems in the waters off Taiwan, and close to 18 faults caused by the earthquake, repairs will take time.

A representative of one of the cable ships carrying out repairs said earlier this week "We anticipate that all of these systems should be repaired -- we're talking about end February"

The lag isn't so bad if you're trying to level up. If you're raiding or PvP in the battlegrounds, then maybe can get disconnected during peak hours (game server peak time, not Malaysian time peak time).

Up to you if you want to start in March. If you can tahan that long.

I think the "tier" the TS meant are tiers in talents, not tier in armor. e.g. and I think WoW only has up to Tier 4 armour now right? Correct if wrong.

For the Affliction tree
Tier 1 talents = Suppression and Improved Corruption
Tier 5 = Shadow Embrace, Siphon Life, and Curse of Exhaustion
Tier 9 = Unstable Affliction

For Demonology Tree
Tier 1 = Improved Healthstone, Improved Imp, and Demonic Embrace
Tier 5 = Improved enslave demon, Demonic Sacrifice, Master Conjuror
Tier 9 = Summon Felguard

Please refer to http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classe...ck/talents.html

Hope this makes it clearer for you. For now, the deepest talent that you can get are Tier 9 talents.

You can make your Corruption spell instant once you have put 5 talent points into Improved Corruption talent. IMO, this would be the first thing that I put when I play warlock. But just my RM0.02 la. Have fun!
