QUOTE(arturo_bandini @ Aug 11 2016, 04:19 PM) in case you never heard of it, webe tries to make some extra money by charging you if you want to use wifi tethering when on their network. they'll just forward you to some webpage if you have not activated (and paid for) tethering but tried it anyway: [attachmentid=7298801] there are several known methods telcos use to detect tethering, e.g.: How can phone companies detect tetheringi'm thinking of identifying webe's method and publish a countermeasure here, but currently very busy with real work. any sifu here have looked at it? @rizvanrp You want to unlock the tethering? The way the block tethering is same as how American Telcos block tethering. You may go and have a look how Verzion block tethering. This post has been edited by mztang52: Aug 11 2016, 04:08 PM

QUOTE(acbc @ Aug 16 2016, 12:09 PM) Connect phone to a mobile router. Surely can bypass. Yeah. You got it. But they can detect your activity even though you bypassed it. This post has been edited by mztang52: Aug 16 2016, 11:17 AM

QUOTE(acbc @ Aug 16 2016, 12:18 PM) Sure? Because a mobile router will detect as 1 device by the Telco. The telco can detect what is the device connected to their basestation. But anyhow, they still cant block you. Can send out warning letter only.

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Aug 19 2016, 09:26 PM) Have you tested WeBe using this method? Any source that you can share on how you know Webe can't block MiFi / Wireless Routers with built-in SIM card? Other people just wrote that they can use it on MiFi. Check it out in other threads.

QUOTE(3825968 @ Aug 29 2016, 04:37 PM) If I download my file from google drive, which is more than 1GB, do you guys think webe will block my connection? Yes, they will. UPDATE (3/9/2016): No, they won't. From now on,their unlimited data is not truely unlimited but actually is 20Gb of data only. This post has been edited by mztang52: Sep 3 2016, 10:52 AM

QUOTE(liquidsny @ Aug 29 2016, 10:13 PM) What? I thought it's unlimited so why block dwld file from google drive? Temporaly block only. If they found out that it is downloading from Google drive then they will unblock i back. Because their system has some kind of anti DDOS attact system and they will also check are you using it to share your personal hotspot without buying pass. But if it is a 1Tb file, hehe then it should be permenant and you will need to pay for the penalty then only you can unblock it back. This post has been edited by mztang52: Aug 29 2016, 11:10 PM

QUOTE(liverpool @ Nov 6 2016, 05:47 PM) It is geniune, but what's the use if only limited to 1 device, and can't even enable tethering as hotspot ? No other telco even do this! In this case, this is like RM79 for unlimited (some says it is actually limited to 20GB). So, RM79 for 20GB, and not allow hotspot. WTH, I am going to cancel webe right away ! It is truly unlimited now. Many users already used more than 100Gb.

QUOTE(MGM @ Nov 29 2016, 07:58 AM) Connecting USB-modem with Webe SIM is not considered as tethering, if based on this defination? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TetheringTethering is connecting one device to another. In the context of mobile phones and tablet computers, tethering allows sharing the Internet connection of the phone or tablet with other devices such as laptops. Connection of the phone or tablet with other devices can be done over wireless LAN (Wi-Fi), over Bluetooth or by physical connection using a cable, for example through USB. If tethering is done over WLAN, the feature may be branded as a mobile hotspot, which allows the smartphone to serve as a portable router; mobile hotspots may be protected by a PIN or password.[1] The Internet-connected mobile device can act as a portable wireless access point and router for devices connected to it. He is asking USB tethering, not USB modem to PC.
