We should be dedicated in making the game a more realistic, balanced and fair gameplay.
Please use the below link to report spoofers.

Strictly note discussions about cheating in the game (e.g. spoofing) is strictly forbidden.

Who are Spoofers?
- Basicly, someone who have been playing Pokemon Go the wrong way. They have hacked their phone or phone's GPS so they can move virtually anywhere anytime to catch and level up themselves.
- Spoofers have made the Pokemon Go game an unbalance and unfair game. eg. Real player are unable to win gyms due to spoofers' high levels.

How To Identify Spoofers?
- Frank speaking, it is difficult to identify true spoofers. Some high level players have been playing in other countries then came back to the country. There are even some Pokemon fans whom have been in hardwork playing many hours since the game's launch. In summary, some may look like spoofers but by actual they are not.
- Even though you are not sure, if you suspect one, you may report the spoofer. Niantic will still investigate the suspect to confirm your suspicion.

What Happens to Banned Users?
- They may receive Permanent Ban and will no longer be able to play with the banned account.

To Appeal if You Are Banned
- Please visit this link

Niantic's Dedication To Gamers
- No doubt Niantic is a small team but their dedication to gamers were seen in their very first game, Ingress.
- Niantic have been said to be very aggressive in removing spoofers to bring back balance in the game.
- Niantic is now permanently banning Pokémon Go Cheaters

I was stopping on a red light at persiaran by, the coconut jelly shop. Saw a gym guarded by a 300cp snorlax, took it out with my jolteon then drive away.
If I park a Pokemon in there am I a spoofer?
So, it's hard to identify spoofers.

When the game was first released, it is highly unlikely that anyone in Malaysia should be able to have 3 or more pokemons with over 2000 CP. The usual excuse is that they play abroad, but then it needs to be proven that they are spoofing rather than telling the truth! Which is harder on YOUR end to prove, when you make the complaint. However, once you complained, will Niantic check server records? What kind of actions will be appropriate without spoiling your own market?

the only way to check is niantic keep track of all the massively huge amount of gps history of ALL the players. and when complains come in, they search the database of the accused. if that guy can be here and suddenly 400km apart in just a few minutes, then they might have a case.

else, i dont know how they wanna check it

Indeed. But with over 8 million users, will they even bother with a few spoofers?

They probably add some algorithm that checks let's say... If difference in GPS points over time is more than you can travel in a day at 100km/hr then soft ban 24 hours.

Player 1: Playing in Ipoh but spoof to show in KL, so some GPS jump in between back home, then total distances between GPS ping may be too much to be explained by travels... get soft ban 24 hours cannot play

Player 2: Playing in KK but spoof in Australia, but able to disable GPS show he/she in KL, so appear to play in Australia for a few hours => no ban

Cannot catch all spoofers

Not so possible to catch spoofer now. It is still possible at the 1st day launch in Malaysia. I've seen a guy occupying gyms around with his 2k+CP Dragonite and that is definitely a spoofer. Over the days, people might have catch up their progress since this game is on heat now.

Since last two updates, Niantic already prohibited the user to turn on Mock Location in Developer option. This is the option required to use for all fake GPS aps. Well some Android developer did come out some ROM that will hide the option and they call it Mock Mock Location, which is working now at the moment but I bet Niantic will get that over soon.

Anyway, what I can say is those people will not stay long with the game. The way they did it is not for fun, is more to commercial I guess, to sell the account.

Those who are spending on the game is slowly catching up to the spoofer's Pokemons. In another week, assuming the spoofers don't put a stronger Pokemon, we all could gang up & GB the gym continuously until the spoofer is kicked out.

Has anyone reported and have seen positive results?

My friend did that to 2 lvl30+ trainers and less than 24hrs later, they were gone. dunno whether coincidence or action by Niantic.

there are ways to report spoofers, but it is really hard to identify one

- gps positioning sucks, often times i found myself rubber-banded from point A to point B doesn't mean i'm spoofing. i sense the accuracy is quite bad and least accurate, and often it tries to load stuffs in a very, very long duration which distrupts and lowers the game playability

- technology for cheating the game. other than apps like fly gps which can place you in your current moving location to anywhere you want. i dum think the dev can do much with those too

even yesterday while i was getting owned hard in dota while playing in cc, i did noticed the game was installed in each pc, and the kid next to me was playing it with keyboard and mouse.

- rubberbanding GPS location is normal... no worries. Its just a few meters or so...Its not bouncing u to Thailand and then to SIngapore and back to KL...

- Sppofing GPS is almost untrackable.. u can stay home.. then turn it on and be in KLCC and play there... as long as you dont make it too obvious u will be safe

- Installing the game on PC is fine... not everyone have mobile...

Couldn't agree more on your point of view, but still they against Niantic policy. Probably Niantic will see this at lowest priority, compared the current nastiest issue like bot-farming.

actually Niantic doesnt condone third party app that run on top the original experience.
So there's always potential to get banned for using other apps to view IV.

Just wondering, there this one gym near my area that almost impossible to access but still there are players in the gym. Looks to me is that they use spoofer to access the gym. How can I report them in this case?
