No idea, u check with them and u need to do it quick before they allocate the lost no to someone else.

Recently my 13+ years Hotlink Prepaid number expired in old backup phone. Currently using Hotlink Postpaid in new phone. Old phone rarely used this year, mainly just for login OTP. By the time I realised expired, already 1 month.

Called Maxis customer service today, according to the agent, after 10 days expired, Maxis cannot recover the number... not even to Postpaid. If within first few days you call them, maybe (but must convert to Postpaid).

Very disappointed with Maxis SOP. I thought it was supposed to be a few months 'cool off' until any expired number is released / reassigned to new subscribers? Since when it became 10 days?

Anyway, it seems for now my old number not yet in active service (when I call, still no ring tone/voicemail).

No longer trust Maxis, gonna MNP my postpaid to CelcomDigi next month. It seems customer loyalty/ retention is less valued these days. Only stock market price is really valued..

Update to the above. Managed to recover my Prepaid number after around 37 days expired.

July 10th; walk-in to Maxis Centre Sunway Pyramid, was assisted by a very professional staff there. July 13th; walk-in same place to recieve new SIM card and pay RM50 to register Maxis Postpaid 79. Need to maintain at least 6 months before can COP or MNP.

Not sure why the call center agent said 10 days. Although have to spend a lot of money and unnecessary headache, just relieved to get my old number back. Many hard lessons were learnt for sure...
