Just got the invoice from the courier about the taxes/duties.

Kena 10% import tax man, in addition to 6% GST! It is classified under 9504.50.000

Any idea how come? GPU should be classified as a computer component, no?

U buy for gamingkah. Kastom follow chart depending on GPU range. Under x60 x50 consider OK. U buy high end ofc for gaming.

RM1100 is the cost (USD 260 @ 4.05). They take 10% for the Import Tax, and a further 6% for the GST.

Just mention thiis to them. Can the gpu function on its own without plugging it in a computer like game console?

Search criteria use HS CODE

In keyword type 8471

Then scroll until u get the tc code i have given you which will show under video cards and sound cards.

Print it out and show to customs, if you cant print it out screenshot and put in paint and print it out.

Nil import just 6% GST.

I mean same thing lah. I put into tariff.customs.gov.my website, it also says that 9504.50.000 is "-Video game consoles and machines, other than those of subheading 9504.30"

This is printed on the customs tax invoice already.

yes gpu is classificed as electronics import = = highly taxable

dispute la. video game console can run on its own. GPU boleh meh? gahmen people some times so bodo one...

If Jew lucky find those that cost 1.2k at G5 or Lazada, with proper discount, possibly 1.0Xk only.

I did get an EVGA GTX 1060 SC. The Zotac mini cooling sucks.

Lucky for me, Amazon paid all of these taxes on my behalf. Asked UPS to collect from them, and Amazon gave the money to UPS directly and they settle.

Still I have the certification from Kastams Diraja Malaysia and the Kastams Invoice, if I can claim back the RM110, would be good, since it is done under my name.
