Hello sifu sifu, would like to seek advise.
Which MB should I look into if I would take i5 6500 + gtx 1070 + 16gb RAM (8gb x2)
And which casing is in recommendation?
Is Corsair Carbide Spec Alpha recommended??
Thinking about NZXT S340 and Corsair Carbide Spec Alpha.

Depends on your budget and usage, if don't care about form factor, then cheap entry level of H110/B150 mATX mobo should be enough, if you want standard ATX then you can look for H170.

Some examples:

Gigabyte H110M-DS2 (D4)
Gigabyte B150M-D3H (D4)
Gigabyte H170-HD3 (D4)
ASRock H170 Pro4 (D4)

From the 2 casing models you've listed down, it seems like your budget for the casing is around RM 300 - RM 400.

There are other options available too within this budget such as Phanteks Eclipse P400/Enthoo Pro M, CM MasterBox 5, Fractal Design Define S.

If I were to choose one from this list, I will go for Phanteks Eclipse P400  tongue.gif
Thanks, would like to ask how much power is suitable for this kind of build:-

Intel Core i5 6500
H110M
Kingston 16GB DDR4 2133MHz (2x 8GB)
GTX 1070
WD 3.5” 1TB 7200RPM 64MB SATA III
Kingston SSDNOW 240GB SSD

Is it suitable and compatible for the parts above??

You didn't specify the exact H110 model so please make sure it is using DDR4 RAM module instead of DDR3 then everything will be fine (if you pick from one of the boards listed by me then it is good to go).

If speaking of raw power draw during load, a decent true power 300W - 350W PSU is enough, but you need to prepare some extra headroom for future expansion and overhead, so a true power 450W - 500W rated PSU is more preferred in this way.

Alright, so get a H110M model using DDR4 RAM module right?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH smile.gif

Will use Skylake CPU instead of Kaby Lake CPU in the below build to save cost (of course you can go for Kaby Lake or wait for the upcoming AMD Ryzen if you wish  nod.gif ).

Intel Core i5 6402P - RM 781
Asus H110M-K - RM 259
G.SKill Aegis 8GB DDR4 2133MHz RAM - RM 255
Zotac GTX1050Ti 4GB GDDR5 Mini - RM 729
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 219
FSP Hexa+ 450W - RM 169
Tecware F3 - RM 119

Total: RM 2531 (ETECH price inclusive of GST)

Add an SSD later when you have more funds to improve system responsiveness as well as system boot time.

Oh I see, couldn't find Pioneer branded SSD on their lelong online store, but Transcend, Kingston and Intel are sold by them, you may consider swapping the Pioneer to one of these.

Kingston UV400 (cheaper but slower in 4K read/write)/Transcend 370S (more expensive but faster than UV400).
Possible, you can downgrade the i5 to Pentium G4560 (similar to an i3's 2C4T at lower clock speed) and the GPU from GTX1050Ti to GTX1050, this can save you around RM 650+/-.

Dota 2 and CS:GO perform better and faster on a CPU with high single core clock speed, if your friend prefers to have a stable 60FPS, especially during heavy clash in Dota 2, try to get i3 7100 (but this costs twice the amount of a G4560 though  sweat.gif )

i see, thank you very much sifu!
