Budget: RM1.5k

Purpose: Casual gaming, movie download, illustrator (Steam games, assuming high quality?)

Hardwares that will be re-use Just recently changed PSU. HDD, DVD, casing will reuse.

Monitor resolution:1080p (Samsung 22.3inch)

Games & softwares that use frequently: Illustrator, latest games.

Current Rig
Leadtek GTX650Ti BOOST 2GD5 O.C
Intel E3-1230v3
Asrock B85M-HDS

Issue
- Everytime I play some high details or performance game, it will blackout and I need to force restart. Heroes of Newerth is fine, no idea why
- Takes time to load my system. Have plans on getting a SSD to run my system
- PC easily get attack by virus, need a good anti-virus system too
- Need at least 8 USB port on MOBO. More USB3.0 the better

Remark
- I consider this a major overhaul as my some part of the system lasted for almost 3-4 years already
- If budget exceed a little is fine but not too much as I don't really intend on spending that much. The lesser the better
- If parts can get cheaper from lazada or other websites, pls let me know too
- Have plans to change to another casing as CM690 is too bulky and space taking
- Should I go for high spec i3 or mid range i5? hmm.gif
- Any recommendations for bigger screen monitor? Or can I go for 32inch LED TV instead? hmm.gif

1.5k is not a healthy budget for a major rig overhaul, you either end up with handicapped CPU or GPU.

My advise is to keep the CPU, it is basically an i7 4770 with slightly lower clock speed and no iGPU (not important as you have dedicated GPU), go for a better GPU (GTX1060) and 240GB SSD.
*
i7 proc, gtx1060 and 240 ssd?

But my rig can match these proc and gpu? hmm.gif worried the plug different.

Well I stated your current CPU is basically an i7 4770 (with all the differences stated in previous sentence) so you don't have to upgrade the CPU (same goes to mobo and RAM unless RAM is not enough) GPU and SSD upgrade more suitable for your budget, a complete CPU platform upgrade would cost you another 1.5k (in average).

GPU uses PCIe to communicate/connect to the main board so this isn't a problem, same goes to SSD, any SATA based SSD will work just fine with your current mobo.

Oh okok. Sorry didn't understand your sentence earlier. tongue.gif How much do I need for an overhaul? hmm.gif

Hi, need recommendation for GPU as mentioned by few forumer, my jerky image is caused by GPU.

CURRENT: Leadtek GTX650Ti BOOST 2GD5 O.C.

BUDGET: RM400 or less would be great. Looking for brand new cards that currently available in the market.

PURPOSE: Gaming, AI, graphic design.

QUESTION: Is AMD now better than Nvidia? Previously I was using AMD and it did not have much of a problem. Have no preference on which side, as long as it serves me well and does not get overheat. No plans on OC it also, just using it as stock GPU.

CURRENT MOBO AND PROC: Intel E3-1230v3 | Asrock B85M-HDS

RM 400 can't get you a decent entry level GPU, not even GTX750 due to currency depreciation lately. Perhaps you can try adding more funds to your budget? Like RM 500 for GTX750Ti or GTX1050?
*
What's the difference between GTX750TI and GTX1050? hmm.gif Both are below RM500?

GTX1050 is around 25% faster than GTX750Ti and runs on latest Pascal architecture (lower power consumption, you don't need PCIe power cable), price wise, GTX1050 is slightly more expensive (around RM 570 for the cheapest Palit model) while GTX750Ti is around RM 500.
*
One last question. Is GTX1050 can support latest games like BF1, Fifa, COD:IW?

Well GTX750Ti can run them too, it is just the matter of the settings and frame rate that you can get in those games, since it is a low end GPU, I wouldn't recommend running triple A titles on high/ultra settings though, the priority of getting a high and stable frame rate is much higher than graphics settings especially in FPS games like BF1.
*
Most probably I will use mid settings for gaming. Too high settings/resolutions will make me dizzy.

Many thanks for the info! I guess I will get it from Lazada. hmm.gif

EDIT: Sorry, another question. What's the difference between PALIT GeForce® GTX 1050 StormX AND ZOTAC GeForce® GTX 1050 Mini 2G?

I noticed ZOTAC got mini 2g. Meaning the card is slight smaller in size or? StormX I assume is somewhat their name for the card? hmm.gif

It is the one of the models of the specific brand.

Palit got StormX (only for low end card), Dual, Jetstream, Super Jetstream model while Zotac got Mini (their famous small and mini series GPU), AMP, AMP Extreme etc, the difference between each model is mostly the design of the card, cooling solution of the card and so forth, the performance difference is negligible (within 1 - 3 FPS difference at most due to different core clock speed).

Alright, many thanks. wink.gif

Can anyone recommend me any GPU as replacement for my 650TI Boost? I think my GPU officially died. I'm okay even if is getting the same card.

Budget not much, if can be done within RM400 that would be best. Don't mind on second hand also too as long as is working condition without issue.

The best would be looking for used card for that budget range because new low end GPU cost more than that, GTX750Ti around RM 500, GTX1050 around RM 600 etc.

Used GTX750Ti should be around RM 300 now (depends on item condition, warranty status etc.)
*
Thanks for the recommendations. Is there any cards from AMD? I don't mind using AMD or Nvidia though. I believed the heating problem on AMD is pretty much solved years ago right? laugh.gif

For AMD side, you may consider HD6950/HD7790/R7 260X, they are having similar performance with GTX750Ti, HD6950 is older than HD7790 and R7 260X is the rebranded version of previous card.
*
What about ASUS GT730-FML 2GB DDR3? Is that downgrade from my GTX650 TI Boost? hmm.gif

Yes, quite massively, anything below GTX750 in Nvidia 7xx series is total crap  laugh.gif
*
If that's the case, would it be wise for me to send my card for repair instead? It won't cost that much compare to buying a new GPU right? laugh.gif

R7 265 sapphire dual x should be an upgrade right? Since you mentioned R7 260X. hmm.gif

Yep, R7 265 is considered as an upgrade, minor one, it is a rebranded version of HD7850.

Depends on which part/component of your GPU is broken, if it is a minor one then it should be within the acceptable budget range, but I am just worried that nobody can quote you a reasonable price for the repair service since 650Ti is an old model, high chance that the components/parts of the card are already obsoleted  sweat.gif

Ah alright. Many thanks for the advice bro, appreciate it. notworthy.gif
