What do you normally wear for headgear when you train during the day when the sun is up? Caps/Visors/just a headband?

I'm increasing my mileage for long distance events and I found training in the sun is alot more strenuous and had to slow down the pace quite abit. Would a cap just increase the body temp in our humid climate?
*
For long distance use, cap or visor is recommended. Get the one with dri-fit and light material.

Regarding GPS....... i did compared with other Brunei participants' Garmin models during BUTM, the distance and elevation quite comparable and more consistent than participants put their Garmin with ultra mod.

The first half was 49.6km (watch) vs 50.5km (official), second half was 51.1km (watch) vs 51.4km (official).

For the elevation part, the first half was 3971m (watch) vs 2650m (official); The second half is 2331m (watch) vs 2360m (official).  I can explain the first half a bit "out of line" was mainly due to the rain/cloud effect.
*
I recently bought Amazfit Stratos as well and been testing out at UM route. So far, the distance and elevation gain was comparable with my old garmin. The only problem wit amazfit stratos is that not all GPS activities could be synced to strava except for running, walking and cycling mode with GPS. Hopefully the developers could improve the software.

I want to add more mileage/week. I'm running so slowly that to achieve any form of meaningful mileage quota, I need to add duration. But not sure if it's safe to go beyond 90 minutes on a daily basis.

Speed training is important but doing it more than once a week knock me out. Lol. I figure in order to get better I need to run more
*
Different people, different recovery rate.

You may want to do the intensity running once a week. The rest is recovery run, easy run and long run. This is just to minimise the risk of injury.

WTA: Suunto Ambit3 run or Amazfit Pace / Stratos ??

only want to use it for run. not interested of the idea of daily smartwatch.

Like the suunto function that can navigate your way back especially for trail run.

But Amazfit price better with wrist HR. but is it accurate?

Any Amazfit pace / stratos user here?
*
You can put aside Pace (can't wear it for swimming). For Stratos, there are more functions such as indoor and open water swimming, Triathlon mode.

Based on the latest software update, there is an menu for Track Back. I haven't explored the Track Back function, can't comment on the functionality. You can Google more on this.

In term of GPS accuracy, Stratos clocked 21km during the recent NPE Highway Challenge. I would say it is comparable to other more established GPS running watches. For trail at Setia Alam Trail, my Stratos clocked 10.8km vs Suunto 11.2km (my friend was walking around taking some pix along the route).

Thanks, KeyPower only sells 2XU while there are other brands that are relatively cheaper. I wonder if the cheaper ones are worth it (or if 2XU is worth the premium)

I am wearing Adidas Climacool cap, very light and dry-fit material. You can check it out at Stadium / Royal Sporting House, sometimes they have sales discount like 10%, Smth like that.

same here. want to try duathlon, then look at the bike price........  shocking.gif  shocking.gif
do they have certain spec for bike if want to enter duathlon? or any bike is ok  hmm.gif
*
Can always start from a budget roadbike ie aluminium frame, depending on the brand, estimated RM3k +/-. At this budget, can get a shimano gear set model 105.

When you have more budget, can always trade in your bike for a new one.

For HM, the rain was getting heavy after the first u turn near 1st water station, should have diverted the runners back to the starting point.

It's a tough call for the RD to call off the race and to escalate he message to the crews.

hey guys, is the jog track at bukit jalil stadium open to public? Can we run there in the evening?
*
Track inside the Bukit Jalil Stadium? I don't think it's open to public.

If you need a track to jog, mebbe can consider MPSJ stadium.

Thanks for the feedback man. That means i probably have to go to sleep at 5pm. Problem is my bus ride from KL is from 9am to probably 2 or 3pm. Wonder it would be a good idea to take sleeping pill.
*
Seriously how many can sleep at 5pm..haha.. Most runners are so excited.

Just get enough sleep 1 or 2 weeks before the race day. You should be able to go through the night. All the best in your coming run.

you can refer this FB page.

Brooks Warehouse Sale

For brooks, look for this model, Glycerin, Ghost, Adrenaline GTS, Ravenna

IMHO if u are serious in running, better to get reliable old model shoes than new cheap shoes.
*
Found myself a pair of Purecadence 6 for RM180 from the warehouse sale.

how was your first run? thinking to get that also for short/fast run
*
I haven't tested it out. I bought it to keep first.

I have been wearing PureCadence 4 (retired) and currently purecadence 5 (400km mileage). I wear it mainly for normal training shirt run and LSD max 20km+. The shoe is light with some cushioning with support.
