Honest feedback from me from my own perspective...

If you are looking for an easy to maintain bike, just go for jap bike. Malaysia is a Jap bike friendly country... spareparts are easy to get and most mechanics can repair those bikes easily.

If you are looking for an awesome bike, go for Italian bikes. There are a few Pro mechanics here in Malaysia for the Italian Stallion so expect delays when repairing your bike cause they are only a handful of mechs and a lot of owners.

Price wise, original parts are around the same price for both Jap & Italian bikes... the big major difference is parts availability, shipment cost & the waiting period for the parts to reach here. (shipment is not cheap ya... thus why Italian bike parts are more expensive)

Electronics are a common problem when it comes to the Italian stallions but with some tending loving and care and much googling in forums, everything is fixable on your own (provided you have time to spend on it). I follow my religious believe, all human made items will not last forever except those made or permitted by God.

In general, Italian bikes are known for their awesome handling, horsepower and maneuverability, for me I think Jap bikes nowadays are very2 close if not has overtaken the italian superiority in that field.

To each it's own... that's the real key here. know what you are expecting to get or use based on the size of your bank account and your love towards the bike, no use to have top of the line bike but unable to buy maggie goreng for dinner later... so do the math and you will end up with a balance... something you can enjoy and not suffer on.

p/s: Why go out with the Japanese girl next door when you can ride out the Italian supermodel.

yeah, that is the best... CSI the bike kaw kaw and check at forums for the common issues... if you can live with it or there is a way to fix it... then you decide either it's worth buying or not.

Benelli... here is some history of this bike from my own personal encounters.

Some Benelli models are made in EU and some in CN. CN made models are beyond doubt cheaper however the finishing & QC is not as good compared to their EU counterparts.

I personally know this 1 unlucky Benelli TNT 600cc owner, his engine screws somehow became loose... send the bike back for warranty... Service centre replace in new screws... rode the bike to JB... found that 6 screws missing once he reach his destination.

I also know another TNT 899 user where his bike until today has no issues and running quite well...

This could be a production defect as the TNT 600 was among the first batch to arrive here & I am not certain if the same issue still occurs in the newer batches.

After so many years in automotive industry, there is 1 thing most of us will know the steel used in EU production is the best compared to JP & CN production. Generally but not necessarily, EU Steel are 1st harvest steel. JP steel are some fresh harvest & some recycle steel. CN steel are normally recycle steel.

Do read up benelli forums and findout the common issues with Benelli bikes. If you can live with it, why not?...
