He claims games should be played and enjoyed and not worrying about framerates or graphics settings, but to enjoy games of certain genres, framerates and graphics settings are required to get to a certain level, competent enough to not draw the player out from being immersed in the game.

Playing Battlefield 4 at the lowest settings at 720p with shittiest textures and no shadows, drops the game from being a gritty, modern-world reality based shooter to becoming "Left 4 Dead". Not to say Left 4 Dead isnt enjoyable but Battlefield 4 lives and breathes realism and is its running trademark. The moment Dice makes a fucking Chibi-style BF4 with cartoony graphics, until that happens, I expect that Dice will continue going the gritty ultra realistic route with this, and that includes making it more enjoyable, fun and immersive, which then you run into that 60fps <insert resolution here>.

Compare that to "Inside" or "Limbo". The game tempo runs slow. Reeking of ambiance and atmosphere. Not the frantic shootemup, or kill or be killed mentality here. You can crank DOWN your framerate or settings to the shittiest possible and still have the same level of enjoyment as those who has this running on 8K with 144fps.

My point here is, he says he tends to use his games as tech demos instead of playing them.That in itself is already wrong. Play them. But to play them, you have to ENJOY them, To enjoy them, the experience have to be enjoyable. For the experience to be enjoyable, different levels of satisfactions are set between many different people. Those who dont care much, 1080p at 30-60fps is enjoyable to them. Those who seeks the highest level of satisfaction and enjoyment, demands more, hence 4k at 60fps. They tune their setups to get these standards. There is nothing wrong with that. It is only WRONG when after all that tuning and setting up, you abandon your games and never touch or play them. These kinds of people, I call them benchmarkers.

I am trying to reduce my % of unplayed games (based on steamDB) myself, but most of these unplayed games are gotten from Steam sales as packs/bundle. Like for example, I love Duke Nukem, I could buy that particular game I wanna play at 10 dollars, but for 3 dollars more I get the whole bundle. No brainer there. However, I am saddled with many different versions of Duke Nukem games that I dont really feel motivated to play because of the bundle, when I only want to play that only one particular version of the game.

which is why were on the PC gaming ship instead of console, we GET TO CHOOSE how we want the games to run. its part of the fun too in tweaking to get the best out of the current range of hardware

Most importantly is that your eye is satisfied. If you game at 30fps and your eye is satisfied, ok la that's you.

Not sure what to play next but will decide after Shadow of Mordor, since it is taking up significant of my time and I am getting a bit bored playing that.

cheapasf, is parallel as far as i can see cause i know several brand's distro personally and they all suspect him as scammer at first, but seem there is forumer backing him, as some mention he will send back us for rma free, hence its not local product, as far as i can tell, but for me i wont risk jimat that little bit and opt for a card without local warranty when site like lazada, lelong and gemfive are selling damn cheap d.
this game is not high requirement like they want us to think its the same crappy engine used so far on their games, and it doesnt even looks next gen, u see the benchmark test, those character has zero shadows and highlight on them, they look like shadow disable or bad lighting done.  same like hitman, its optimized for amd, and when dx12 support comes, trust me nvidia user will cry..  it will only take several more patches in months or two to stable and optimise the game if its follow their previous trend of games... just so amd get their lead by sponsoring them.. its all business... nvidia did the same on all their optimized partner games too , im not surprise.
