has anybody used Huper Optik ceramic 40 shield 6 mil? is it good tint? will gps work ok inside car with that tint?

My car is on the Huper Optik Sech 60 for front windscreen and Ceramic 40 for all side and rear windscreens. GPS works inside the car, but in terms of heat rejection the Huper Optik is not as good as my previous V-kool Elite on another car.

Personally if heat rejection is your top priority, I would think that V-kool Elite would give you better heat rejection with the same VLT. If you need better heat rejection with Huper Optik, you need to go lower VLT such as the Ceramic 30 or 20 but that would be very dark and the risk of having problems with JPJ or the police is high.

If your car has a biege interior, c 30 is just fine! Not very dark! Not recommended if your car is dark inteiror! I have c40 all round and regretted! Not dark enough as my car is grey interior! Coming from V40 on my previous ride, HO feels inferior! Of course, ' one cent worth one cent's goods!

Bro, how much is vkool elite now?

A bit regret now, my car due to windscreen has been changed (changed to 3M forgot which one, just similar grade/better than previous solar guard). The rest of the windows are solar guard. Should take the best tint as changing tint film is tedious and more cost inccured. However, the workmanship for all are great, no bubbles or wrinkles anything.

I look at this price and realised my decision few years back. Today I will make same decision. Chose solar guard, not breaking bank for few % of difference.

Perhaps you got a high quote? If I am not mistaken, the quoted price for a C-segment vehicle with V-Kool Elite (after discount) from a cheap installer is about RM2,100 to 2,500. That was about a year ago. Perhaps you could recheck. The prices will vary alot between shops as the mark-up with "official prices" of tints can be very high.

While the "official price" of the Huper Optik tint is about RM2,800, I only paid RM1,700. Actually can be had for RM1,600 as I didn't deal directly with installer but instead the sales advisor.

Yes, above RM3,000 for the cost of tinting a B-segment vehicle sounds a bit high. RM2,000 +/- sounds about right. For me, RM2,500 is about the max I would go with a C-segment vehicle.

My V-Kool Elite package came as a package with Nissan when I got the Sylphy. It certainly costs less than RM3,000. About RM2,500+/-. If I went directly with the V-kool the price might have been lower. However, since the tint package was offered by Nissan during the time I purchased the car, I just took the package for convenience sake since if there is any bad workmanship after the tint job, Nissan will be responsible for it. Saves the hassle.

I think you got the high quote. I recently got a quote for Vkool Elite + non-security tint for Avanza for less than RM2.5K. Well, you know how big the Avanza glass area is.

I'm on Huper Optik C20 and the heat rejection is comparable to V Kool elite. Basically, Huper is the best value for money tint I've used so far. In fact, anyone that wants a good price for it please PM me. I can give you a very competitive offer

Around 1k, forgot which model, it is the best I can get without violates the JPJ rules.

So my total package is around RM 1k + + 500 ~ 1600 there. But windscreen's changed.
Do note that for expensive tint, better to include in the insurance, if possible.

Wingard royale, IRR 90%, TSER 60% user here.
After few reading on web before purchase, few have said need to check TSER instead if IRR % only.

For heat rejection its on par with my buddy 3M crystalline 97% IRR imho.

But im consider safety tint and smart tag compatible for daily use.

I don't think you can use C20 for the front windscreen as it is too dark. One may consider C20 for the side and back windscreens but that too is already having a 50-50 chance with the police and JPJ. What is the current acceptable standard by JPJ or the police? The last time it was 75% VLT for front windscreen and 50% for side windscreens. Though people usually don't follow, but going down by approximately 10% is still rather safe as the difference is not too significant to the naked eye ie. 65% VLT for front windscreen and 40% for side and back windscreens.

Actually, C30 is quite dark already if compared to C40. My car has a light beige interior too and at certain angles, the C40's shade is a little dark at times. I don't want to take the risk of having the JPJ or police stopping by car when they have an operasi on checking the tinting on cars. A colleague had chosen to ignore the rules and gone for a darker tint on his car (not Huper optik but another brand). He got stopped by the police not once but twice.

What is the new regulation for the tint? Last time it was 75% VLT for front windscreen and 50% VLT for sides and rear during my time. If I am not mistaken it was revised to 75% VLT front and 40% for sides and rear windscreens?

By the way, when I installed the Huper Optik Sech 60 (front) and C40 (side and rear), they gave warranty for 5 years when the owner gets caught by the police or JPJ. If the owner gets caught, Huper Optik will settle the fine.

I think Huper Optik is confident to provide the warranty for the Huper Optik Sech 60 and C40 as the shade is not too dark. If darker tints C30 and below, Huper Optik will not provide this similar warranty. The owner will be at his own risk when he gets caught by the police/JPJ and will to bear the fine himself.

C20/C30 is obviously not street legal but if you want dark tints, you basically will go ahead
