Quick Q's:
Background: Requirement for two monthly (1month i use the other dormant) use of 3gb data and about max 2hrs calltime total.
1. Which plan for long validity and hassle free ?
2. Need to migrate from celcom how long will it take?
3. What is process to MNP if i'm under mainline of a family member in Celcom?
Thank you
2. Usually take about 48-72 hours.
3. If you're under mainline of a family member (supplementary), I don't think you can MNP / port out to other telco. Your number has to convert to a principal mainline first (means make it as independent, principal account that is not tied under your family member) and also make sure it is under your own name (not parents or family member), then only you can port out to other telco. This process may be immediate or takes a few working days, depends on your current telco. If there's no lowest monthly postpaid plan available to "temporarily" switch to principal account, consider switch to a prepaid plan first. For example, if now you're on Celcom Postpaid, consider switch to Celcom Xpax prepaid plan.
Most importantly the account must be your own name and not tied under principal mainline, then only you can port out to other telco.
**Feel free to clarify me anything if there's any misunderstanding.
This is the typical MNP process. And usually you'll have to go to the nearest service centre to do it, and can't be done by contacting them via phone or email. If all these are too much of an hassle, you might wanna consider just buy a new phone number on your desired telco, and start fresh.
