I just activated a new onexox SIM today and reloaded rm10 immediately, but the validity is not updated to 28 months. Do I have to wait 2 weeks for it?

Last week Monday (19 Nov) night I had an unauthorised deduction of credit by unknown scam SMS service. Called CS immediately. At the end I specifically requested that they resolve my stolen credit. CS said will make a report about it. No result until now. May I know how fast does XOX resolve issue?

QUOTE(alexanderclz @ Nov 27 2018, 12:56 PM) QUOTE(xinaixin @ Nov 27 2018, 01:02 PM) It will take some time to return the credit and you'll be notified by sms. No report number given.Do you have the report no. You'll can call to follow up your case. I've read the scam SMS thread where some members on other telco get their credit back immediately. This is an obvious problem with an obvious and easy solution. Some devious telco would just block the scam services and try to ignore the stolen credit. Calling back was on my thought but I don't want get both sides' blood pressure high for RM4 and I'm occupied with life after work. Certainly I do not want the same case to happen to me and everyone else. I'll send an email to CS then escalate to MCMC as last resort. Digi's app is much better with support ticket tracking. I received a spam SMS at 3am today. CS said they will refund me ASAP the RM4 that the spam service charged.
But they can't immediately refund the 15 cent charged, which is the SMS to subscribe the said service, that WASN'T SENT FROM MY PHONE. I've notified CS my concern that, obviously, why my number is used by someone other than me. This post has been edited by RetroMayday: Nov 27 2019, 08:17 AM |

QUOTE(Xaser_3 @ Nov 27 2019, 08:36 AM) Not possible for your number to be used by someone else but rather ads with spyware that uses your phone number to subscribe to unwanted services. The users than get innocently charged a few ringgit here and there for no reason. Just complain to CS and if they don't take any action, just lodge a report to MCMC. I've considered that a possibility so I checked the app permission for SMS and scanned using Karspersky Mobile. Nothing suspicious found in antivirus, and only Google services and default phone apps have SMS permission. I have only installed reputable apps from Play Store lately. I'm using uBlock Origin in Firefox as well.Update: I got deducted RM4 again. This time without any notification. Called CS, same script. Shitty day for me. I've gotten another unauthorised service subscription, third time. Last one was Nov 2019. My dad's XOX number has the same problem as well, and I can't check on his frequently.
Seriously, XOX need to buck up their network security or whatsoever. Investigate if Celcom is the culprit. They can readily return the RM4 charged by 3rd parties, but not the 15 cent SMS that starts the subscription which wasn't sent from my phone. They just deny that it's impossible. But the impossible has happened to me 3 times and to my dad's as well in another device. I have made an MCMC report last year, which is not closed yet, and I will do it again. |

QUOTE(xinaixin @ Feb 20 2020, 09:04 AM) Hi,your dad is lucky to have you check on his phone. Like I said, they can readily return the RM4 charged by 3rd parties, but not the 15 cent subscription SMS which isn't sent from the SIM card itself. Who controls the network? There are many old age people who doesn't even know that their credits gone bit by bit not to mention to claim back the credits. Imagine how many old age people in whole MALAYSIA use Onexox and illiterate, don't read sms received and ever wonder who get the profits from this ? After all these year from 2G to 5G, the Communication and Multimedia Ministry still can't solve this subscription problem permanently. I'm not sure how they can't see a pattern of incidents not started by the users. |
