bit confused about sms.
there is free sms got some there. but there is also syayed season pass 0 sms. so which is it? when i tried to activate 5g by sending sms, i got the message back you have zero sms. So how to fix? what is the cheapes sms top or what to do in this situation. I just merely need to enable 5g for onexox, and one way they said to do that was to sms them the code. according to their faq, if you sim card supports 4g, no need to replace the sim card. it should be able to do 5g supposedly. I'm using a Samsung S24 Ultra, but i don't see the volte option listed This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Jun 27 2024, 02:26 PM |

wow i've been away too long, just noticed this
QUOTE(UN1T3D @ Mar 15 2024, 11:30 PM) I have been away for far too long from this thread ... Upon learning of the new 14/3/2024 TnC .... the 1st thing that comes to mind is whether onexox is in financial difficulties and wanting their subscribers to give them more money ... this new clause 74 looks like a way to scam legitimately ...None of the big 3 telco does it this way .... It is dumb irony that onexox wants to give loooong validity but must still meet topup requirement every 120 days .... Why? ARPU? then they should have thought about all this before .... Is there a new hotshot in marketing who wants to prove himself to the boss ? New clause 75 is vague at present. No way to check package status. if this clause 74 remains then it is finally time to abandon ship ... QUOTE(ezekieldavidchong @ Jun 27 2024, 02:45 PM) i alreadyport out any telco similar to the old onexox? i don't use my phone that much. it's just for banking mostly xd. why pay for validity if there is still a minimum purchase every 120 days still? makes no sense. QUOTE(UN1T3D @ Jun 27 2024, 05:40 PM) Hmmm ..... ty for the tips. since i already got enuff validity i can spend rm 30 top up and get some data to test out the 5g. seeing as buying more validity not much point.5G can only be enabled when you have an active data plan ... subscribe to a data plan first before sending 5G ON to 22777 ... Steps to remember: 1. subscribe to a data plan (ex: FAT DATA500 or FAT DATA1) 2. send 5G ON to 22777 (which is free) to activate 5G service 3. 5G is only used for data (volte only on 4G) 4. if data plan is not renewed within 60 days, 5G will turn off. Low account balance sms comes when DA/MA is zero .... you can safely ignore it ... The rm30 topup every 30 days can be override by buying 1 year validity. Save the validity purchase sms for your record. You don't have to topup rm30 until the end of validity date given in the sms. anyway i didn't see any other options as cheap as xox, so guess i will stay put for now how to check when you are close to the 1 year limit? seeing as your validity date no longer matters apparently (this is how i previously checked when i needed to top up) QUOTE 3. 5G is only used for data (volte only on 4G) how to enable volte? https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/difference-be...-lte-and-volte/ https://xox.com.my/volte/ Did some checking seems i may have to call them up apparently QUOTE(alpha @ Mar 15 2023, 02:36 PM) Just called onexox cs, they said the VOLTE is not enabled for the number, and requested CS to make a report to enable VOLTE. After one hour, getting a phone call reply saying that the XOX technical department has enabled the VOLTE for the number. QUOTE(ezekieldavidchong @ Jun 27 2024, 02:45 PM) actually i just remembered i had some unspent data from season pass not used.so i subscribed to the 1g data for 1 month period using the season pass. then i received the sms to confirm 5g is active also, there was a separate sms informing this is auto renew. they also included a code for stop auto renew. so i immediately sent the stop auto renew code and it confirmed. so the 1g i redeemed is valid for 1 month and it won't auto renew. perfect. For internet i usually just connect to wifi. I keep the data for emergencies only though the telco has 5g active for the phone number, but it might not be setup correctly on the phone. i restarted then checked, enabled the data but the icon at the top shows 4g https://www.samsung.com/ph/support/mobile-d...r-galaxy-phone/ QUOTE(d3v073d_50uL @ Jun 27 2024, 05:04 PM) here you go. yes sms to xox to request was free. and yes 5g got activated according to the sms![]() but how to confirm this on phone? volte still not showing in status. i'll try call onexox later and see if they can do something their end xd. https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-...gs/td-p/9159918 https://www.onexox.my/onexox-volte is this the correct apn settings to get 5g? https://www.onexoxplan.com/p/internet-apn.html this is the other info i found in regards to this https://www.onexoxplan.com/p/onexox-5g.html https://www.onexoxplan.com/p/internet-apn.html https://www.eggcyte.com/xox-apn-setting/ This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Jun 28 2024, 07:07 AM |

QUOTE(mfa682 @ Jun 28 2024, 07:12 AM) Activated my simcard last week and gave customer service a call and their technical support team activated volte in less than an hour (although they told it will be activated within 24 hours) someone shared thisLast time my phone by default even with celcom3g apn, 5g seems to work flawlessly. But I replaced it with "xox" apn, 5g is still working nonetheless. in my phone i don't see the volte as an option to toggle on or off. is this the phone model issue? or because the telco has to enable volte first? Using a Samsung S24 Ultra (malaysia model) Anyway their customer hotline is 8am + so i'll check with them then, ty for the info QUOTE As long as voxi allow this on your account then it should work ,but Voxi would need to provision your account for this to happen. The phone will only follow the parameters set by your sim card https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-...gs/td-p/9159918 based on this comment, sounds like you first have to get your telco to enable volte for your number, BEFORE this volte option toggle to enable will appear in your phone. assuming this is correct This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Jun 28 2024, 07:40 AM |

QUOTE(mfa682 @ Jun 28 2024, 07:53 AM) Hopefully, that would be the case. Can't tell since I don't own the same model i hope so . tried checking the s24 thread but search doesn't work, so have to do manual.https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5431964 *update i called up to ask about volte and 5g, the rep immediately knew what to do. he said he will activate it so have to wait till tomorrow to be fully active. this was for both 5g and volte. I did inform that i had just enabled 5g via the sms, but what he said was, needed volte active as well for the 5g to also work. I also pointed out that the volte toggle for enable was missing from phone option. So i asked if it will appear after he activate it, he said yes. so have to wait and see tomorrow. just thought i would share that anyone else have this issue, just call them up, the customer hotline is free if you are an existing customer. they said my model should have 5g support for the phone Samsung S24 Ultra speficially this which is the Malaysian model (you need this one if you want stuff like samsung wallet to work in malaysia) sm-s928b/ds https://www.phonemore.com/specs/samsung/gal...-s928bds-512gb/ https://phonedb.net/index.php?m=device&id=2..._samsung_muse_3 the first samsung link above doesn't indicate volte, but the 2nd one does This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Jun 28 2024, 08:26 AM |

QUOTE(iZuDeeN @ Jun 28 2024, 08:56 AM) What does that mean? If I don't top up, when will it expire? i'm no lawyer but that does sound dodgy as hell Is it a scam to advertise 36 months validity when in reality it's only 120 days? Please clarify this clearly in this open forum rather than asking me to message your customer service. If I need to top up RM30 every 120 days, where does the 36 months come into play? whats the point of paying for validity when the validity end date matters not if they ALSO have a rule you have to top up min rm30 every 120 days. So basically that just means rm30x 3 = rm90 annual because that is what it boils down to. in an entire year thats how much you are spending which is way more than before assuming that you are a very light user that didn't top up much or at all. 365 days = 1 year = 12 months validity have to rm 25 to cover a year validity. rm30 is like every 4 months, so times 3 = RM90 so out of that RM 90, deduct 25 to cover the yearly validity. the remainder rm65 u can spend on buying whatever package. essentially what this means is, the true validity cost is rm90, not rm 25. considering there is the rule to top rm30 every 4 months roughly. any other telco offer yearly validity under rm 90 for users that don't call much and simply just want to retain phone number https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5386980 QUOTE(sirius2017 @ Jun 17 2023, 10:57 AM) https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/faq/products/...-pantas/passes/ rm30 for 365 days Active Period pass to keep SIM active for 1 year. QUOTE unifi mobile prpeaid.. endless validity no need topup to maintain line active. but within 90days. u have to use a little bit data/call out to reset cycle. QUOTE(xinaixin @ Apr 22 2023, 09:26 PM) Hi,yes you can click to stop recurring to stop auto renew plan. i'm assuming there would be an sms to alert when you are approaching the 120 day limit to then ask you to top up? if not then your phone gets barred, followed by blocked, then finally gets terminated. so there is 1-2 months to do something about it.And yes you still can click the immediate to terminate the plan instantly after your data used up,then subscribe a new data plan with 30 days validity. Hi,if your xox prepaid expiry date is 24/04/23,normally you can't call out after 4pm on that day but you still can top up within 60 days after expiry date. 1) Your line will be "BARRED" for 30 days after expiry date. 2) Your line will be "BLOCKED" for 30 days after 30 days "BARRED" 3) Your line will be terminated after 30 days "BLOCKED" *update sorry math fail. updated i think digi long term plan is a legacy? the unifi bebas expired? and the maxis still seems to be ok. i've done the mnp port out before. but basically depending on your telco, they might cause you trouble when you attempt to port out. (it's intentional). You will have to be persistent and also threaten to report to mcmc if they refuse or continue to be difficulty. eventually they will cave in then you will finally port out your number so you get to keep it (you will have to go back and forth between old telco and new to check whether your number had successfully ported out or not) Next step you have to contact your banks to inform them you retain your existing number, but that it's mnp port out to a different telco. They will know what you mean. If you don't do this, your banking tac won't work. Just be warned if you plan to switch. make sure you don't have anything important requiring your phone line within this period. Maybe mnp out is easier these days? no idea This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Jun 28 2024, 11:26 AM |

got volte to work.
https://www.androidpolice.com/volte-guide/ so yes, just call up support tell them to enable volte for your phone number. your smartphone has to support volte of course (which mine does). but it's still 4g but with volte enabled. guy said wait till tomorrow, so i guess hope things worked then PS: seems like other telco customers elsewhere are having a tough time with rug pulls as well https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2024/06...r-raise-prices/ *update got volte icon. in the about phone > status information > sim card status> mobile nvoice network type, it shows lte, but this actually just means volte i read. because as long as the icon at top shows volte that is confirmation. if don't have the icon, then it's the regular lte. samsung had removed the volte toggle from the UI. so if it's not there, that is probably why. But that doesn't necessarily mean you don't have volte. As long as you see the volte icon you should be good for that. https://r1.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-...g/td-p/26696415 QUOTE How to turn on VoLTE on your Android and iPhone VoLTE used to be an option that could be turned on or off. However, carriers are moving toward a future where they've phased out 2G and 3G voice services, making VoLTE or potentially Vo5G the only supported protocol. As a result, VoLTE is now turned on by default on most phones, and you won't see a toggle to turn it off. Sometimes, phone manufacturers hide this feature in certain models or software updates. On top of that, some carriers manage VoLTE settings and limit your control over them. telco and also sms both confirmed 5g is active. but when i checked, it still shows 4g. i already take out sim card, restart phone, power, then insert sim, wait 5 minute, check again still same. also set airplane mode wait 1 minute, check, same. re-check the network settings, all seems to be order, tested xox, xox4g, and celcom, same results. my guess is i need to travel to an area where 5g is available and check whether it will flip from 4g to 5g. But that might not be the case cause i checked here https://www.digital-nasional.com.my/interactive-map QUOTE What is the Range of a 5G Cell Tower? The range of a 5G cell tower is 1 to 3 miles (1.6 to 5 kilometers) when transmitting low- and mid-band spectrum. Examples of the spectrum bands used by 5G cell towers are 600 MHz, 700 MHz, 850 MHz, 2.5 GHz, 3.5 GHz (CBRS), and 3.7 GHz (C-band). https://dgtlinfra.com/cell-tower-range-how-far-reach/ i'm dead center in a good 5g spot so.... QUOTE(poh880 @ Jun 29 2024, 09:47 PM) S24 Ultra should work with 5G. Are you located near a 5G tower? I mean you have to be at least 1.3KM away from it. Only those built high have further range but most of the tower are built slightly higher than a street lights only. yeah should be. i checked the 5g map i'm right smack center of a 5g area. i'll do more testing. For coverage reference, you can check on u mobile website or yes coverage. They are same due to we have only one provider, DNB. i noticed 1 mistake i did. In battery i had the 5g disabled. So i disabled that then test again. But this setting should only be active only when battery saving is enabled which is 1. during night when asleep 2. when battery falls to below 30% so that is why i don't think the 5g disable was active when i was testing. but to be safe i disabled that feature But yeah i can confirm the phone does have 5g. Because where u select the connection, the auto it shows 5g, so that is confirmation the phone supports it. I also received the sms they activated 5g for the line. They even help me reset it a few times. I think the last thing to check if to roam about and see whether the line does detect a tower that shoots out 5g. Anyway did any1 see the june happy hour? 20gb highspeed data, 100 minute call to all network and 7 days viu premium? rm30 is this worth it? Have to spend rm30 anyway to meet the rm30 every 120 days before end of April, before end of August, before end of December ? correct? is there any sort of sms code for checking what is the deadline *update i called customer service, i was asking about the 120 days have to top up rm30. They said no need because i paid for the rm25 validity so i don't have to worry about this. So i guess, no problem? I will just keep an eye in case line no longer working then see whats up then. But basically i already top up 2 years in advance because i i don't like to keep track of these things QUOTE(UN1T3D @ Jun 17 2024, 05:20 PM) Hmmm ..... yeah when you call their custom service, they said new policy since march 2024 or something. so i asked them about it, they say my account no problem no need top up every 120 days 30 ringgit since they said it goes by the validity which i already paid so i don't have to worry. There's this clause in the TnC where they reserve the right to amend at any time bla bla bla ... so they only need to announce and inform unilaterally ... it sucks to be subscribers at their mercy but thats the standard practice everywhere ... as subscribers, we need to understand how the system works and use it to our advantage ... which unfortunately right now is very blur because their CS themselves don't really know how the mechanism really works at the backend ... more time is needed to understand it ... The old welcome deal for mnp was removed a few years back ... any mnp or new activations now requires welcome deal to get 28 months validity. For the time being, my understanding from CS response is : CODE IF (activate onexox prepaid new or mnp) and (buy welcome deal to gain 28months+8months) and (buy 1 year validity) THEN no need to topup rm30 every 120 days until end of current validity ENDIF That's what I was told but to be honest if onexox suddenly changes TnC again then all this is becomes BS and we'll start all over again. One of my number received the 120 days notification. I just reloaded RM10 to see if it counts ... nope, it got barred on 29th may ... so after 3 sms, the number got barred. So, they will just bar the number if we do not comply with RM30 within 120 days. After barred 30 days it will be blocked 30 days then terminate. I unbarred the number and transferred everything out. Haven't decided yet but maybe I'll do some experiment to see how the mechanism works (or maybe just get a new number). Seveal pages back xinaixin have a very interesting piece of info of the unverified mechanism. Probably need several more months to confirm it. Another BIG problem right now is confusion by everyone. There's no way to check validity package status in app or selfcare. The only proof of validity package purchase is by sms (which is not 100% reliable delivery). If not received or deleted or phone broken then we subscribers have big problem. I only found out about the 512kbps basic internet early this year. Tested with 512MB FAT500 and confirmed basic internet 512kbps speed after HS quota finishes. DATA BAL says 10GB basic internet. Been using it that way since then. People around me also started using FAT500 as backup plan. Basic whatsapp and tele messaging works fine at 512kbps. For the sudden need of HS data, I just do DATA ADD 500 ... Do note that the 500MB and 1GB monthly plan can only sub until 31-DEC-2024. It will still auto renew after it but cannot sub anymore after the date. Any new onexox activations can/should refer to my suggested options one page back (post #9852). The rm50 welcome deal has less value now ... the Happy Hour RM15 has better value ... For now, I'm staying with onexox to utilize the FAT500+basic internet to the max but will give only peanuts and breadcrumbs to onexox for playing this kinda game. but if suddenly got issue, they can't just simply just change like this.... have to give us some notice up front QUOTE(xinaixin @ Jun 17 2024, 05:52 PM) As I mention before, some onexox prepaid users who purchase 1 year and some purchase 2 years validity also get BARRED several months(Up to 9 months)before i missed this. so basically even though what the customer support says is everything is honkey dorry, even that might not be the case based on what some of the users are saying. i will do what is suggested and keep screenshot as proof their expiry date. Users who didn't have proof of purchasing the validity are denied their long validity and are told to top up their prepaid to resume active line depends on the top up amount and/or purchase the 1 year validity again.(That's why I remind users to keep the proof of success purchase validity) As for users who have proof, I suggest that they report to SKMM/MCMC so SKMM/MCMC can check on onexox about this matter but unknown how many users are willing to make a report cause they feel it's troublesome as they can claim back their long validity by submitting the proof of purchasing validity. Prepaid users pay RM25 for each 1 year validity purchased but get BARRED before expiry date, how can this happens ? So good luck to hmmmmmmm.........who ? onexox prepaid users or onexox ? QUOTE The old welcome deal for mnp was removed a few years back ... any mnp or new activations now requires welcome deal to get 28 months validity. well from what i saw there was an option within blackxox app to top up validity for 1 year for rm25. if you want longer just stack, i did this before it worked. but with the current situation i cannot imagine anyone dare keep validity more than 1 year just in case rug pulled under them This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Jun 30 2024, 07:16 PM |

QUOTE(xinaixin @ Jun 30 2024, 09:05 PM) Yeah.......just to be safe, keep the sms received showing success purchase 1 year validity for proof but this sms didn't show any phone number ty so much for that tip.So my suggestion is to take screenshot of the *150*1# showing details the prepaid phone number, credit balance, season pass balance & expiry date for extra proof. Something like attached photo of this prepaid user who have long...long..... very long validity. i thought screenshot blackxox app was enuff, guess not. i'll do what you suggested, ty holy cow 2032 you got me beat. i'm at 2026 i had always suspected something could happen so i didn't go too deep. then again you get the opposite where people got a good deal that later isn't available i guess it boils down to consumer protection rights in which way it leans, corporate or consumer This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Jul 1 2024, 11:06 AM kiritoffx liked this post

QUOTE(chaihuat @ Jul 5 2024, 08:00 PM) Guys, I think mostly onexox user today received SMS regarding validity date revised. My father account validity back to previous and not follow the new TNC onexox. Yes, complain to mcmc work. ![]() is this because people were cancelling to then rejoin xox for the welcome deal? maybe that's why they did that. either way seems like everything is back to normal, cheers every1 ^^; This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Jul 6 2024, 03:26 AM |
