I always wondered why AEON was so generous to give 6x PPL access for such low entry cards that practically has no annual fee (since it's very easy to achieve 12x swipe annually). And if you get both New AEON Gold and AEON BiG Gold, you could easily get 12x PPL access.

Just it will not be sustainable, sooner or later they need to revise it

rarely people will do things like this. Believe you are the odd one

Anyway, most will prefer not to use their airport lounge if it is very far apart. Same as in other country, example Singapore, if lounge and boarding gate is at different terminal, many would prefer not to use the lounge, unless they have many hours to burn.
*
In Singapore I actually prefer to settle down inside the public area and watching the foot traffic, I would say the ambience is better than the ppl in klia and klia 2

We actually need to be more detail and specify down which card give access to which airport PPL in which country at the post #1.
*
This kind information very easy to get online.
Basically if u want a free annual fees and non privellage banking card that give good selection of ppl, just get a Maybank visa infinite, otherwise just apply cc come with priority pass, like citi prestige and Amex platinum.

I see.

Even the one at Kuching airport lounge is better than this one.

Will not aim for this lounge but others in my next visit.
*
I usually will try to minimise my time in klia as possible, non of the lounge is appealing even the airline lounge

I think this is fair game.. since the tnc mentioned is complimentary entry for principal cardholder only, guest at certain discounted price.. n by right, the person must be the cardholder, so, it is up to the PPL to verify. The bank has the right to question PPL why there is no identity verification done as how can the cardholder enter twice at the same time, even though it is different card, but same bank. so, I think PPL is avoiding this kind of dispute from bank.
*
Hope this can address ppl overcrowding issue

I don't think so. There are just simply too many cards that gives PPL access with low income criteria. PPL needs to strike a balance between making profit and controlling the number of crowd in PPLs, if that does not happen the PPL quality will just continue to drop.
*
They should indentify the indentity of card holder, only cardholder allow to enter, not diff bank card or what etc...

Low income card problem lies with bank, perhaps ppl should raise the cost they get from bank for each entry, then eventually the problems can be solved

I think PPL can place a control over this? But they are too eager to make profit....
*
Just increase the fees they collect from bank lo...
There is double edge sword, you let your lounge’s quality drop like that, some traveller who value quality won’t use it as well, and those bank issue low income card usually collect zero annual fees as well

Nowadays, PPLs are like pasar malams. Crowded to the max, especially the one at KLIA.  tongue.gif The real high end lounges are like MAS Golden lounge that has limited access to only business/ first class passsengers.
*
Ppl in klia I once saw people can just enter without validating few years ago, the reception is just busy till the max alr.

i thought in the revision last year TGM Changi T2 was removed, now it is back in the list.

'Cardholders are required to present their AmBank Credit Card/ AmBank Islamic Credit Card-i and Boarding Pass upon entry to the lounge. The name on the Boarding Pass must match the Cardholders name on the credit card/-i in order to be allowed entry to the lounge. Plaza Premium Lounge reserves the right to refuse entry to the Cardholder in the event of any non-valid details of the credit card/-i or Boarding Pass.'

not sure if it will be enforced strictly

it is really the time to enforce strictly d, wat too overcrowded

certain peoples don't use their IC name on their cc, means no need to enter at all? hahaha
most of the time i use my supplementary CIMB Preferred Visa Infinite to enter PPL.  The limit of 5 times PPL MYS does not bother me since i usually use in SG

This is problem they need to figure out...

The banks, and ppl have been very lax in how they regulate this.  ..in the past, you don't even need a boarding pass to enter the lounge...so many people abuse it by using it as free meals....

And ppl don't really care, and every entry is income for them...so they will allow your friends to enter by swiping your cards too....

For banks with restricted annual entries, it's not too bad, they know their commitment is within the numbers allowed....

It was a big problem with Ambank cards...as they allow unlimited entries....after they removed the 3 times swipe requirement....

They realised this, and reintroduced restrictions, this time spend of at least rm500 per entry....and removed the much abused land side lounges in KLIA2....

And now they further tighten the rules, restricting to only 5 entries a year, unless you are Signature status....

To me, the best card, win win for all will have the following conditions:
1. Free for life
2. No restriction for entries. I don't mind clearly defined limits in number of times you are allowed, whatever....but trying to consciously keep track of spending as a condition is a no no...
3. Supplementary cards also allowed to enter... seriously banks want the customer to enter and leave his wife/children outside?...
4. Broad range of lounges in the list....all local airports should be included (Ambank went overboard here in removing pen and Borneo)...

There is unfortunately no card that satisfy all these now....if the banks are serious about keeping premium customers, they should get feedback from their customers and should introduce a card like this....
*
Premium customer means you need to have few million deposit with them or spending more than a million per years, otherwise bank won’t provide this at their own cost.

Unfortunately, most cc holder din qualify for that premium criteria

You don't need that kind of money to be with the private banking services...most bank will accept you with 200k+-

The biggest "high nett worth" group are not the millionaires, but the group of successful professional/upper management people with maybe half a million of liquid assets to "manage"...
Not true....the only people who fly business class are those on business/official travels....I can tell you if it's from own pockets, they will fly y class.....and welcome use of such free lounges....
*
Yes, what I means is, in malaysia, normal premium banking customer doesn’t really consider ‘premium’ to the bank to make those free service sustainable
