Just checked, ex dividends Oct 1st 2016- Sat for As1m, April 1st 2017- Sat for ASM. So no point trying to move from 1 account to another on the ex dividend date.

Just topup on Monday. Sure lots of people withdraw on Monday.  Only won't get dividend for that month.

Hearsay PM fund have one fund but unknown the product name had re open for subscription... The agent was tood the fund received 235% return within 10years.

If you have access to asnb branches, you can start trying at 815. If don't have, wait for banks.

I think 815 is open the door, but the system not start yet. But everyday will be queue of people outside the door before 815. Once 815 door open, all rush in to grab number.

Looks like registering for new account is trickier than topping up.

To paraphrase what Maybank and CIMB staff told me, registration takes some time and it's possible that all units are taken by the time you're done registering, leaving you with an account with zero deposit. In that case the account will be stuck in "pending" and rendered invalid (or something along that line). Whereas if you're registering at ASNB, they can reserve the units during registration to prevent the previous scenario from happening.

As expected, I had no luck in Maybank. Surprisingly CIMB staff phoned the local ASNB branch and found out that somehow new account with zero deposit is fine . So I proceeded with trying to open a new account there. In any case, I didn't find out whether zero-deposit was okay or not because I managed to purchase a small amount of ASW units  . Kudos to CIMB for nice service.

Also, the CIMB staff was told by ASNB that there were available units in the morning. So I'm even more confused as to why an ASNB staff told me no units available when I went there in the morning

Maybe I'll return to CIMB tomorrow and try opening zero-deposit ASM and/or AS1M account (I'll try to deposit but I don't think chances are not that good).

Congrats. Try to capture as much ASW as available tomorrow. This month is the easiest to top up.
