QUOTE(nexona88 @ Oct 10 2016, 11:18 AM) Those open this year don't needed to change.. Only older one needed to change.. Simple to know. Is the NAV column in the passbook. If have then new passbook. Don't needs to change. Don't have NAV. Needed to change.. NAB seunit = (RM) 1.0 ? Something like that?

QUOTE(OPT @ Oct 10 2016, 08:18 AM) Those not yet change...can't top up. Don't worry, the agent will change it for you The passbook of my mum and brother was years ago. When asw2020 first launch.. is it okay for them? I think they are not interested in top up, but the funds inside there no problemo?

I read some abt open new asnb fp funfs accounts, imho asnb branch is good for those who want to open new account. Banks is kinda hard unless:
1) u meet friendly staff 2) period post dividends 3) and luck

Hi all, I've an off topic to seek for opinions.
My housing loan interest is 4.6% p.a. ASNB return around 6% p.a.
It's simply calculations based on paper, I should park muy money in ASNB instead of "top up" my downpayment to 20%.
Am I right? Or there's another factors that I haven't taking consideration yet?
Or I should increase my housing dp to 20% so my monthly commitment of mortgage would be lesser?

QUOTE(Kamen Rider @ Oct 12 2016, 09:52 AM) I hesitate to pay 1.06 , understand this will be charged regardless of getting the units or not I've thinking to top up via online but RM1.06 per try is not worth (you know the odds to get it) so I only tried at bank because driving distance is very short only.

QUOTE(OPT @ Oct 12 2016, 06:17 AM) OT: IMHO, better to park in ASX FP...it makes sense. Housing loan interest is among the lowest around, that's how many people are leveraging. Higher dp is when banks don't approve of higher loans. Also, if this is an issue to you, better get those flexi loans instead so that you can top up the loan in near future... 👍 Thanks bro, I'm gonna studies about flexi loan now. I've calculated those figures based on paper, only save 9k for first ten years... parking at asx fp is definitely better.

QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Oct 12 2016, 09:11 AM) On paper, choose ASNB as the returns is higher Having said tat, u need to balance between returns n your mthly commitment (if the sum exceeds DSR) Hi thanks for feedbacks. My dsr is alright with 10% dl, will not top up on downpayment because it's not worth the moment.

QUOTE(chicaman @ Oct 12 2016, 08:24 AM) Non-Bumi here I already read the first page, is it still available to open an account now? Possible to open online eg Maybank? You can open at agent banks, pos office, and asnb branches. It would be hard to open new account but you just need 100 units for each new account. So keep trying on "recommended places" in KL and you'd get it soon.

QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Oct 13 2016, 02:06 PM) Y not if u blif in ASNB/PNB Don't see what's the problem. Diversification is for big gun, small amount just take it as disciplinary/targeting savings in asnb. Fd too low, but those 1mth efd good for liquidity. So park emergency funds inside is alright. The rest can committing into fp asx.. I don't understand why ppl like vp ut, "4 types of charges" incurred and ur returns is only 4.xx% after minus those charges... and this is based on assumption your selected funds giving constantly 8% / year. Better put in fd promotion in this case..

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Oct 13 2016, 03:23 PM) The changes are already calculated into the NAV. 3% or even (-) returns happened if the market is bad. If the fund can give 12% p.a nett after 3 year, I will say it perform better than FP as FP give nett 6.x% after 3 years. Not to mentioned some people don't like govt related stuff/some don't like non-transparent stuff/some think it's all ethical isaue so they don't want touch fixed price fund which IMHO is silly. As long as it's better than FD and can outrun inflation, that's good enough for me. Besides like I mentioned there's rhb islamic bond fund (vp) which give consistent 7.x% every year. That 1% might not seem like much now. But over time, rhat 1% stack up. Some ppl said it's "harom"... (fpasx)
