would like to share my latest haul.

for those that can't afford expensive watches like me, and looking for a nice dress watch (with a decent movement), this is it.

i bought this cccp heritage from zalora, with coupon for rm84 only. presentation wise, together with the slava 2427 movt, and the look of the watch itself for me is well worth it for rm84.

now i have a proper beater watch for office use.

just wanna share, i managed to send my watches for glass change in ampang park. they charged me rm48 for round watch and rm58 for square watch. this is for mineral glass.

for sapphire, they charge rm120.

need to wait around 30 mins for the round watch and around a week for the square one.

working my ass off to get a proper automatic watch last time, a seiko to be exact. reading a comment saying that seiko is rubbish just broke my heart lol.

i guess it's the problem with our community actually; brand favoritism.

to panafone, maybe can check what type of watch that your brother loves first (diver, chrono etc.) and go from there.

guys, i have a question (sorry if this is silly).

normally, i always go for safe colors of leather straps on my watches (brown and black, most extreme in my collection is tan), cos i always think that it looks nice when paired with shoes and belts of the same color shades.

recently the urge on getting a uncommon colors of leather straps is growing in me, say blue, green, gray etc.

any inputs on how do you guys pull this off?

Aye, though I find that I tend to stick to black strap / conservative face pieces during work hours, and the funkier ones only come out on casual fridays or weekends.
*
same here. been wearing brown or black for office.

People in my office are rocking Yeezy / NMD to work, I guess that's the reason why I'm wearing more colourful nato to work.

Was wearing this during a presentation, got stop by someone halfway to ask what watch I'm wearing  laugh.gif

i've been a fan of leather strap and have been using it for almost all of my watch. however, i noticed that after wearing it for a while, the leather tends to get dirty and some of it loses its color (mainly light colored straps) due to:
1. desk diving, so the bottom part near the buckle will be affected

do you guys have any tips on how to take care of a leather strap?

leather or carbon looks.

budget is fine whatever price. if RM500 and worth it would not be an issue. but if RM100 has similar quality with those higher price, i would rather buy RM100. dont mind the brand as my priority will be confort and looks good on my eye.
*
for a cheaper alternative, i suggest strapsco. price should be around rm100 and for the price, no complain. stitching and the leather itself is still sturdy even after almost a year of abuse.

but if budget is not a concern, maybe can try hirsch or strapcode. superb quality.

under 2.5k, the only swiss watches that i can think of:
- steinhart ocean one
- hamilton field khaki

and maybe tissot visodate if a dress watch is what you're looking for.

well mine was small in size, but able to put out more than 200 lumens...and neutral white tone too...tho doesnt matter as much for monochrome.
also the room wasnt completely dark...the right side including the crystal was lighted using diffused controlled sunlight.
i only used a torch on the left side to bring out the bracelet.

i did this one quite a few yrs ago using another cheap camera.
this one 100% lighted again using diffused controlled sunlight, and coming from the right again.
left side the ridges was just sunlight being bounced from a white envelope.

Hi sifus , currently having a budget of between 500-800rm . Wanted to get a watch for my young brother graduating. He likes black colour stuff , so planning to get a black watch for him. As he is entering into working life, am looking a classy and mature looking guy watch. Hope you guys can help me out . A bit confused on the branch out there like seiko , iwc , Oris and the likes. Btw are there any sale coming soon?

Thank u in advance for recommendation .
*
for that budget, maybe you can get iwc and oris out of the list. if you're looking for a dress watch, go check orient bambino or citizen nh8350. i've personally tried both and they look good on the wrist.

This is nice!

Thanks for the recommendation.
I always have this love/hate relation with seiko, easy on the wallet but lacks the "punch" when it comes to brand image.

Quality is not bad at all, maybe I should take a second look.
With all thst said, may I know where the "go to" place aside from official retails to buy these watches?

I do have personal contacts, but maybe all the sifus here have better source and deals.
*
how bout oris aquis? other than the proprietary lug design, i think it is a great watch tbh.
