Either:-

1. The one who wrote the chords basing on different key
2. You missed capo instructions
3. Artist retune guitar.

Musician can always change key, either for easier playing or easier singing. Up to you, just make sure all the musician in the band playing same key only.

If you want to fit you own key, that's another story. Always check on chords/tab posted online especially on Ultimate Guitar

Not really. Sometimes they use transpose to make your life easy. The original tune might be played in drop/standard tuning. That's why playing with capo is always an option.

in simple terms

chords are just 2 or more notes played together, that follows a certain specific formula.

for example, an A minor consists of A, C, E, a chord of A5 is A, E

now this can be played in any variations on the fretboard depending on the sound the artist wants to portray.

so you can play Am any part of the fretboard and would still be Am, but it wont sound the same,

when you google, the information is not presented to you in the context of the song you want to learn, so the Am is most likely an open chord but in the song it may be an Am on the 5th fret

they are in general the same things, but they sound quite different from each other, so you need to make a choice to use one or ther other to fit the song

Yes that's true. And sometimes the person transcribing just got lousy hearing (or too used to certain types of music) and can't tell the difference between chords, resulting in a whole bunch of I IV V chords and missing all the inversions.

Indeed. I agreed that. Some of the original tabs can't be found anywhere so I always rely on the existing tabs but have to modify a bit here and therelah.
I can't play by ears but I know how to read tabs. Not so pro but not a newbie either. Whichever makes my life easy, I don't have problem with that hahaha.

Can be as simple as buying a chord book for chords but going to lesson then you'll learn in greater detail like how to hold, how to strum.

Youtube lessons would be somewhere in the middle.

it depends on how far you want to go with the instrument, if you are just going to play for fun, you dont need a teacher

if you want to get somewhere then i highly recommend a good one

for start you need to learn by yourself. let your finger recognize the chords well.
play some simple song with simple chords
as you progress, find someone who skillful and learn from them
