hi..i wanna ask about guitar chord i want to learn..i google the chord and when i compare to the live performance by the original artist it look like different. All the chord playing by the artist look like lower 2 step from the chord i google..why this happen?
in simple terms
chords are just 2 or more notes played together, that follows a certain specific formula.
for example, an A minor consists of A, C, E, a chord of A5 is A, E
now this can be played in any variations on the fretboard depending on the sound the artist wants to portray.
so you can play Am any part of the fretboard and would still be Am, but it wont sound the same,
when you google, the information is not presented to you in the context of the song you want to learn, so the Am is most likely an open chord but in the song it may be an Am on the 5th fret
they are in general the same things, but they sound quite different from each other, so you need to make a choice to use one or ther other to fit the song
