QUOTE(jpelorat @ Mar 19 2017, 01:05 AM) ... QUESTION: 1. Will be changing to Time Fibre next month. I want to check on the vlan for TIME. (eg: unifi= 500 / maxis fiber= 621).... what's for TIME? 2. I suppose the rest of the setup is as per wanttotree instructions for unifi and maxis...? ... No VLAN for TIME, just configure pppoe as usual.

Does UBNT have a demo EdgeOS simulator somewhere on the internet? web or cli. Something like what Mikrotik has at http://demo.mt.lv. Need to muck around with it as I have very little experience with edgeos and someone wants me to setup an ERL. This post has been edited by soonwai: Apr 6 2017, 02:13 PM

QUOTE(pandera999 @ Apr 6 2017, 03:21 PM) too bad i dont find any too... edgeOS is based on VyOS linux.. i dont really like VyOS and i feel EdgeOS have that kind of characteristics.... oh, what you plan to do with ERL? Just plain UniFi setup. There's a guide here by wanttotree so that's not a prob. Will probably have to do trunking for vlan 500 & 600 down to a switch. Conceptually, no problem, but no idea how to configure with EdgeOS.

QUOTE(nateberuk @ Nov 27 2017, 08:12 AM) Does that mean i have to buy edgerouter too? Yes and no. Yes, you'll need a router such as the Edgerouter to go along with the UAP ACs and no, it doesn't to be an Edgerouter, any router will do. I use Mikrotik routers with UAP ACs.

QUOTE(afeezaziz @ Jan 13 2018, 11:50 AM) Hi, can anyone suggest good/responsive UBQT reseller in Malaysia? Need to have price list for backhaul and point to multipoint network equipments. Bought UBQT for home usage and thinking to propose the brand to my boss. Try Sublime Telecom. They’re on Lelong. If you’re in KL, their offices are in Jalan Ipoh. I get my Mikrotik stuff there and the occasional UBNT.

QUOTE(pandera999 @ Sep 9 2018, 11:50 PM) zero-handoff.... means no disconnection when u roam between 2 APs.. but regarding on 2 different AP [different brand] but same SSID... this one im not really sure..if there is disconnection happen or not. if you want enterprise performance with quite cheap solution.. yes.. ubiquiti is one of them... Oh yeah, zero-handoff is awesome, the APs do the handoff just like cell towers. The phone dunno what is happening. But UBNT is no longer using that right? Using 802.11 k,r,v now? There's a white paper on ubnt where they did a comparison of all three: zero-handoff, whatever they're using now and nothing, I mean device decides where to connect. Quite an interesting read. Don't have the link to it unfortunately. This post has been edited by soonwai: Sep 10 2018, 12:14 AM

QUOTE(squall123456 @ May 12 2020, 07:30 PM) Hi forummer, There was a new product UNIFI Gigabeam , airMAX AC 60 GHz/5 GHz Radio with 1+ Gbps Throughput . Was thinking to bridge the connection for UNIFI 800MBPS on both house under 500m distance. To maximized the bandwidth , this product are able to provide 2.16ghz support, do you guys think that this were sufficient for cheapest solution while getting full speed support? While this were the only product that i found were around the budget and fulfill the speed, any other recommendations? Not sure about the price but Mikrotik has a similar product. https://mikrotik.com/product/wireless_wire
