erm guys, is it normal for my s73 overall temp to be 60+C?
i'm using a notepal cooler but the little bumps/stoppers on the bottom are keeping it from making full contact with the cooler :/

not that laaa, on the bottom. the one that raises the laptop abit. like those little stoppers you put on chair legs

ya me too ..not so high le ..i guess you should take back to the service center ..

Yap and need to clean it once in awhile too, just need to remember don't broke the void warranty seal on the fan.
Since still on warranty, don't want to do much modification.

Anyway, is your R55 also release that much heat as well?

there is one forummer using his v3200 series Compaq with GMA950 also can play CnC 3 lol ..all set to lowest setting and the shader must set to SEcond... coz First would crash as claimed ..

so i guesscan play hehe ... even a gma can play ma

Playing CnC 3 in low setting = no meaning lo. Better play zero hours. Haha..cos CnC 3 famous in 3D ma so we set the graphic to high.    U playing this game now? Fun or not?

i terpaksa downgrade my ram back to original specs. while running mem test at the shop, 2 512 nanya sticks is cooler than running 1 1gig kingston apparently, damn weird
so i traded it back in, and swapped it for a external hdd and also added abit more cash and got myself an evercool magic side cooler.
right now temp is around 57C with charger plugged in and charging
any of you upgraded your ram?
can you tell me what kind of ram you used?
i dont even have games installed on besides what windows give
i oso dunno ah about that but i did a test compare the heat on the bottom of the notebook with and without the notepal and its definately cooler with the notepal, my bad on the logic i guess
will consider if heat remains crazy

my room is quite a warm room actually, need to use 2 fan to keep cool sometimes since if i open the window dust, smoke and noise from the highway will come into my room. i still open it at night or when its raining though.

ya i played a bit ..but kinda bz ..so maybe later onli continue le ...hehe ..for those gma ..they can play the game already happy ma ..hehe .. some ppl can bear wit the graphics but sum can't .... up to themself ..

i tested use the remote for vista media center.. sadly to say... not all usable... any1 can tel me y i cant watch DVD using my benQ media center on vista?? it shows "play" but the screen is black...

i tink tats true.. so sad.... dono when benQ wil release a compatible for us to download...

Oh? What's the latest modal before S41 then? Coz I'm interested in BenQ but I think S41 is too new for me to know if its reliable.

mine works fine. only problem is when i use drivers thats not from the benq site. but from ati. latest b0rks for me. so i use omega driver, no problem. just need the south bridge driver from ati.

if you wanna buy, get s41, from the specs i think its a steal, for that kind of price.
s73 and r55 is obsolete. only buy if its less than 3k 

Yea..1 happy R55 user here. No complain at all    But may be going to sell out soon cos of S41   Need to consider twice 1st b4 sell cos i just bought it 1.5 month ago.

since you are still on warranty and u can go to benq service center and ask for a diagnostic and checkup ..it is inside LYP also ..why not? John is the retailer but not the techinie ..so if u are still not satisfied with the temp try get it to Service Center ..

nvm hehe ..let the benq service center ppl handle it lo ..since got warranty ..after warranty already then nothing can do lo ..

Francis - My S73G goes up 67-68C at times too when playing games or whatever its mostly the graphic card that generates heat, as speedfan tells me my proc and hdd is not that warm (i can run lappie for 3 days without doing anything heavy like play games and my proc will remain 10-16C ) Normal temp is around 60-64C

However when I had 2x1gig kingston ram plugged in this baby's heat was nuts
67c overall temp doing nothing .
also due to ram incompability (so sez memtest at test 7) the laptop auto restarted and crashed alot
now using 2x512 nanya ram sticks that came with the lappie. its still warm but heh at least not overheating and stuff

Added on May 21, 2007, 5:25 amoh and i suggest you buy evercool magic side cooler and plug it into the side air opening for the heatsink

really kek sui ar ..hehe ..can try dl the BT module driver from another benq website and try le ..
