Because if you spend only RM985 on your 3 eligible categories, then you need to spend RM1,015 on non eligible category to make up the minimum monthly spending of RM2,000. If you spend RM1,000 on 3 eligible categories, then you need to spend RM1,000 on the non eligible category. It's more about hitting the RM2,000. Since HL did not REVISE the part that cash back is based on round up, I would assume they still do the round up for cash back.
The rounding is still applicable for people who are actually paying in advanced for eligible categories to get the full RM100 cash back or if your chosen spending can be used elsewhere to earn cash back. The balance you just pad with whatever that earn little or no cash back.
