My application for Hong Leong Essential Card through Hong Leong Connect have been approved and the card is on delivery process. I've change my mind about this card and don't want it anymore. I've also been charge service tax RM25. Can this charge be waived if i cancel this card or should i just keep it for a year and use it 12 times and cancel it after that? What should i do? Please advise. Thank you.

Thanks for the reply. Just called CS. He said can't reverse the SST. I've to pay for my stupidity then.

Yes you're correct for the second year. For the first year i must pay the SST charge.

Received my Essential Card today. Call CS and he told me can give me cash back for the SST charge RM25 if i swipe my card 6 times within 1 month. I gladly accept it.

I'm a new essential card user. For example if i spend RM10k this month, RM7k get 0.4% cash back & the balance RM3k get 1% cash back. Is this correct? Thanks.
