Anddddddddd Hcigar has addressed all the reservations I had about the VT75. Meet the smaller, single 18650 only VT75 Nano:

user posted image

Yeah, and it's already listed up on FT for preorders.

Also apparently we'll get an early shot at it locally at the vape thing VE is organising at the end of this month... judging from all the "nano" teasers VE has been posting in connection to the event.

As far as looks is concerned (amongst DNA75 devices), this blows the SMY75 AND the LavaBox Mini clear out of the water. IMHO anyway.

Here's a first look video to whet your appetite:

For me, I already have the NugTur OTW so I'Il pass for now. Plus, I'm not really so cash flush that I'd so easily consider getting an RM400+ mod, DNA or otherwise.

If VE wants to giveaway me one then it's a different story.

Hey guys, I am a bit confuse right here. Should i get a TVC standard size boxmod
or something small like target mini or nugget 50w.

Currently i have a limitless mech mod setup with limitless rda, chug enough clouds edi but I want something that I could replace my main setup when on the go.

Feel free recommend me some awesome looking boxmod (please dont kill my vapebudget aha)

I actually have these in mind.
Vaporesso Target Mini /w Moonshot RTA/ Mini serpent RTA
Snowwolf mini
*
Question back: How small do you want it?

IMHO, the Minis (Nugget, Target, Volt) have far, far too short battery life for a daily on the go solution. Backups, yes. Daily driver no.

Get a Pico if you want small daily driver. 75w, does everything under the sun (Ni, Ti, SS, TCR, Power Mode), runs on 18650s (so interchangeable with your mech) and reasonably cheap. Plus, better built 510 compared to the flimsy one on the VTC Mini.

Fit a nice small tank on it (Serp Mini FTW) and it's awesomely small for a 18650 setup.

Cons: Any atties/tanks wider than 22-23mm *without* a 510 heatsink wouldn't fit (due to the battery bump). Also, small screen compared to the VTC Mini's glorious huge OLED.

Source: The tiny Pico *is* my daily driver (with the Baby Avocado RDTA), and I have an incoming Nugget as dripper backup.

I actually have a Evic vtc mini but i didn't really use them. Do you have any experience on the minis mod? Anyway serpent mini or moonshot rta? tongue.gif
*
Well, the Pico's smaller than the Evic lol. It's only *slightly* larger than a Nugget with a tank.

Anyways, like I said, if you can live with the six-hour (at 20-30w, 1-0.5 ohm coil, steady vaping) battery life than they're great. Myself I tried the whole bunch of minis and decided on the Nugget for the boxy shape and SS support, but mine's just a backup dripper so batt life isn't a concern.

If you're dead set on getting a mini mod though, take the Target Mini. It a good battery cap (1400mah) and does Ni, Ti and SS (which the Volt/SB DNA40 does not). I didn't get it because of the looks, but it's a good mod.

Or wait for August 8 for the Nugget V2 (1500mah).

As for tanks, depends. You wanna dual coil or single? If you can live with singles, then the Serp. If you want dual capability (with single support if you want to single anyway), then the Moonshot.

IMHO anyway.

Okay I have enough info i guess. Speaking of istick pico, how does it compare to the snow wolf mini?
*
It's smaller and lighter, and has a newer JoyeTech chip (eLeaf = Wismec = JoyeTech (all under iSmoka) is a very good for a cheap chip. Plus it's FW upgradable so eLeaf can iron the issues out (and add features) with updates (it already has one FW update out).

The Snow Wolf Mini is quite a bit bigger and heavier than the Pico. Also no SS TC AND no firmware updates to add it. On the plus side you can use bigger (24-25mm) atties/tanks on the Wolf, and it might feel a bit more solid in the hand vs the Pico.

Smok recent mods are good. You should try it. H-Priv, R-Steam, Quantum and upcoming X Cube Ultra.

The Quantum is quite interesting really (BT woooo) but I'm currently more interested in the VT75 Nano because of eScribe. That said, justifying the RM400 needed for the Nano is gonna be very very hard anytime soon lol - especially as I *already* have the NugTur incoming.

I wonder when Evolve is gonna take two and two together and give us BT DNA with an eScribe app. That would be killer.

Well, that's what *I* think the local MSRP is gonna be. It *can* be sold for less, but probably still around the 300 mark.

Imma just gonna wait until FT does MAP for it and the price drops near the 70 dollar mark... That's IF something *more* interesting hasn't popped out by then anyway lol.

Sure I'm curious about eScribe... but I'm not *that* curious.

Hail to the one affordable mod to beat them all.

Any news about the 510? Anything better? Heck the VTC 2 got better 510... Awesome to see its got the S screen (but pretty obvious it was gonna).

That said dat JT chip already means that this is gonna be one reliable mofo. Can see getting this as a DD if I ever branch out to multi-batts any time soon.

Nice move JT/Wis.

Bro I'm a fresh noob @ escribe, but will definitely become familiar with it once I have time/energy to thoroughly learn it. Never have been the one for TC stuff, however it'd be a waste of the chip if I didn't apply it and the preheat function etc to best advantage. Maybe this weekend I'll compare the Triade's CSVs with the numbers/curve generated by Steam Engine's Wire Wizard and give u some feedback.

Right now I'm happy enough that the 1/5th tank I vaped using that mod at the shop made my jaw drop (comparing to the vape on same atty/juice/coils/wattage from yihi and joyetech chips), that the battery door has no gaps, I can pop the batts without damaging the wraps, and the mod feels so darned good in my hand. Currently charging up 6 batts to be 2 sets of married ones and looking into leather treatments. This ain't just a mod...it's a work of art! If u have any maintenance tips for your Therion, I'd appreciate it. Dammit...now I want a Therion too! biggrin.gif  moneyflies.gif
*
Well, won't deny that sometimes, the cost = quality equation does ring true (even if the law of diminishing returns overrides this, at least most of the time). And the Triade does look the part, even if I'm more a CF than leather type of guy.

Do update with more info regarding your eScribe adventure. Would like to see just how much better and more customizable the DNA experience really is.

Anyhow, my FT package has just been posted (wooo!). Time for the Great China (or Hong Kong) Postal Showdown between GB (RDA - NL Post) and FT (Mod - SingPost)... though it would be a pleasant surprise if both would have arrived by the time I get back to homebase in two weeks.

At least, hopefully they both arrive before the Nugget 2 comes out lol. Otherwise I saddingz.

Also, with the amount of stuff I am slowly collecting, I prolly need to start putting content up my blog again. Which also means I prolly need to update my WP install again sometime soon lol.

Serp Mini, GV Cado (which you already have so yeah), CoilArt Mage, Tesla Carate, Innokin Axiom, Augvape Merlin, GV Griffin Mini, Aromanizer V2, Tornado Nano... take your pick. Personally a fan of the Serp, Cado and the Aromanizer V2 - more or less due to the fact that they all fit the Pico lol.

Also THIS will be out soon (and yeah definitely getting one myself):

As for small mods, I currently don't have anything dual batt just coz I don't have a need for them (yet) and I really lazy wanna marry batts and keep them wed. Biggest of what I have is... err... the VTC Mini lol.

RX2/3 will probably be my upgrade path if ever I need anything more than 75w... I do like the looks.

I like carbon fiber too...the real thing that is, not a faux carbon sticker. It was for this reason that I chose not to get Council of Vape's Tempest mod. After being alerted by a kind forumer that the Tempest was on FB vape auction, I looked more into the latest reviews on youtube. 2 reviewers (Mike Vapes and Vapin' Heathen) said the carbon fiber feels like a sticker. That was enough for me, and I didn't bother to bid. If the RRP was under RM180,a faux CF sticker is understandable....but not for RM280-300.

No need to wait for me to climb the DNA200 learning curve. My body aches, I'm bone-tired and the godrotting smell of airports and planes still lingers in my nostrils. These Pbusardo (hail the uber expert!) vids should explain plenty to you about the DNA200 and eScribe experiences FAR better than I ever could. I'll be watching them too...when my weary brain gets in the mood.
*
Understood lol. Most "CF" being so far featured as material for mods have been more often than not, just full faux vinyl stickers or at most, a single layer CF sticker. As was on the Volt,
Tempest and the infamous Siggy 213.

But for the Tempest, it's probably inconsequential (the choice of CF stickers rather than "real" CF) as the price probably reflects more the chipset then the build... most DNA200s do go for around that price on the basis of the Evolve chip alone really.

That said, the Triade (and the Therion) does make that price slightly more palatable with their "premium" build... so much more than what the others are offering (ehem Stab Wood mod ehem).

As for figuring out eScribe, I myself will wait until I end up getting one... which looks like it's not gonna happen in quite a while. Sure the VT75 Nano looks nice... but the RX2/3 isn't nearly as expensive and does 150w on 2 batts/200w on 3... all on a single mod.

Makes justifying the "chip primium pricing" so, so much harder... no matter how well the chip performs vs the Joyetech one (which was an in house reverse-built clone of the DNA to begin with.. hence the JT/Evolve lawsuit).

But I'll probably get there... eventually.

Long term review of the Pico up on my otherwise abandoned blog: http://goo.gl/uS5LxN

In case anyone's interested. Next in the "to review" list:
1) 'Cado
2) Tobeco VeloV2
3) Naked 100 - Lava Flow
4) Nugget (OTW)
5) Hastur V2s (OTW)
6) Naked 100 - Amazing Mango

Maybe at the rate of 1-2 per week depending on how busy (or how bored) I get lol.

Ever since I discovered the Tornado in early May, I've not really used any other tanks except for the Uwell Crown v1. My TFV4 (3 pcs), TFV4mini (2 pcs), Billow v3, zephyrus 1&2 etc have been sitting unused biggrin.gif. The Tornado really suits my palate very well because it accentuates the mid and high notes of my DIY citrus juices in a way that no other tank in my possession can match (the Crown comes very close though). Heck even my drippers can't do as well.

I connected the Triade to the PC for the first time just now, and took a screenshot with the Tornado on, at my usual 42.5W. Will play more with eScribe this weekend and see if I can find Lost Vape's preloaded settings to compare with CSV output from Steam Engine. But honestly speaking, I am so happy with the vape quality...so smooth...none of the usual harshness or "juddering" of the flavors if I take a toke longer than 3 seconds. My only regret is that I didn't buy a DNA200 device much earlier, being a poorfag cheapskate. Clouds n flava broooo  biggrin.gif
*
It's probably like Audio Quality and DACs. JoyeTech = Snapdragon DAC (which really isn't bad at all), DNA = Wolfson.

But similarly, even superior DACs are crap if implemented badly. The DAC, while being the heart of the signal, isn't the only thing in the signal out chain.

Anyway, good to see that the Triade is making good use of its DNA heart. Kudos to the folks at Lost Vape.

Yum. No info on the Youde Mesmer though?

But yeah, let's see how the reviews fare on this one... though looking at the specs, already feels like a day-one purchase for me as they seem to have fixed *everything* that went wrong with the GMv2.

That said, JFC was mentioned in the 2nd last pic, but I can't see it anywhere on the tank itself. Hmm...

Thanks boss, glad you enjoyed it. Will try to keep the blog fed with constant content... though my track record has been rather spotty lol.

Thankfully I'm steadily aquiring new stuff so 1 per week at least is quite achievable. Done with the 'Cado review writeup too, just need to get some pixxors to accompany the wall of text. Expect it up in a few days.

andyng38 There's the SMY and the VT75 Nano for your small DNA vaping pleasure, though I do agree that we need more dual batt D200s floating about (besides the VT133).

You're starting to make me want DNAs now too darnit. You're already responsible for my current inability to vape Muji cotton any more so I'm starting to see a pattern emerging here... laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

EDIT: And damn, the Lavabox Mini DNA75 just popped up on one of my auction places. Talk about impeccable timing.

I know lol. They're like faster than FT woi. And you Therion edi lemme win the Vabox ler lol.

That said, I fail to see how it's gonna end up anywhere below RM400 lol... aka sooooo outta my range. Plus it's not the red version either.

Plus I already have more 75w mods than I need so it really isn't necessary at all.

But you know, vaping transcends logic and common sense lol.

If more than RM400 better buy at shopee. Seller maybe one of the employee of Vapeboss Solaris. About RM380 something something.

Nah I'll pass lol. What I actually need is a dual batt mod that does more than 100w anyway so let's wait for more dual batt D200s. Besides, just got the Nugget too so I'm just gonna join you no no-ing.

Knowing you, I totally believe your input on the matter to be quite on par.

That said, I'm actually more interested in the eScribe side of things (the full customization) when it comes to DNAs. Sure, the Yihi chips also offer something similar, but unfortunately I haven't seen any Yihi powered mods that could catch my attention design-wise... yet.

Maybe the Boxers, but they're very much overpriced for what they are really.

BTW, while Youde was busy over-engineering the GMv3, eLeaf was content in making smaller (yet arguably just as effective) tweaks to the v2.
