QUOTE(darkdevilrey @ Sep 22 2016, 01:10 AM) oem 185/55/15 Hi Dark Silver, mine to share which tyre brand and spec are you using ? I'm planning to change 4 of my tyres soon.i changed to 195/55/15 ok la, feel solid a bit, steady a bit. 185/60/15, is a bouncy and comfort soft feel i believe. QUOTE(Kiefer @ Sep 22 2016, 09:58 AM) Using 195/55 since 6th month new car time. 195/55 gave little better handling with harder side walls. 185/60 more comfort. Personal feeling la. But regardless which size, best to take better tyres like mich. Hi Kiefer , my initial plan was to fit Bridgestone Potenza RE 080 185/60R15 but not sure will it be too bouncy. On the other hand I would like to equip with Pirelli P1 Cinturato 195/55R15 . Cost for both tyres were about 40 MYR each ...... still hesitating which to go for.I am using pro silvertech since changed the disc. ok, so far. Better than 'proton' as well as APM. like that...just remove the rust and repaint it. changed at 70k as heard some sound and tiny leaking. Assume you're using Michelin ? Tread wear and performance so far so good ? |

QUOTE(long3016 @ Sep 21 2016, 05:17 PM) hi lyn alza users, i saw in the 1st page the recommend brake pad is bosch power plus. other than this, got any others brand brake pad to be recommend? I replaced my factory Alze FL front brake pads to Akebono Ceramic pads. Feels slightly better in terms of emergency braking, during Genting downhill it doesn't fade at all. It cost about 120MYR for a set. Do look for Toyota NCP93 model. If you plan to get a resonable brake pads, i recommend TRW semi-metallic brake pads and it disc rotors. Used both of my peroduas and VW. Does quite a good job but only drawback was plenty of brake dust. |

QUOTE(Kiefer @ Sep 22 2016, 07:28 PM) I have clocked like 15k on the Mich XM2. So far so good. It is quieter than my previous Pirelli (P7 i think or older model) and Kumho (same 195/55). Nice bro, thanks for sharing your experience with both tyres. During same cornering speed up Genting, Mich don't screech sound compared to the other 2. Maybe the P1 is better now, I can't comment as not using. Bridgestone...long time tak pakai..so not sure how now. 185/60 and 195/55, if you like a little better 'performance' and cornering..195/55 is better. Our stock shocks are soft as we all know. Don't overspeed especially over corners, know the limit and your limit too...Alza not a sport car..hehehe *I just travel to Kuantan via Kuala Pilah route.. with dry and some wet... this mich is good for me. Now it is due for alignment and balancing. My concern to all Michelin tyres is their tyre wear...... Well i think i just go for 195/55R15 P/S I sometimes over-tortured my car's shocks, I've claimed my front shocks just after 1 year using my car .... hehe |

QUOTE(Kiefer @ Sep 23 2016, 05:56 PM) Tyre wear is subjective bro. Soft compound tyres would give better grip but wears out faster...if want to have longer wear period, hard tyres like s*stone or china brand would do, but sacrifice noise comfort and harsh ride. I see , yea your info about the tyre lifespan helps alot. I do about 35k per month and my ori S*stone lasted me about 46k now with 30% left. Also if tyres that has bigger threads holes so called would be noisier. My average mileage a year is about 20k km. and if a set of tyres provides 2-3 years...very good liao and a proper maintenance like alignment and rotation helps too. I am a biker too, so choosing good grips tyres safer. I don't want to get any eco tires to compromise for cornering grip and braking grip ( Alza std brakes seriously pain in the butt ) that's why i would pay slightly more for safety concern. I've found RE003 for a fair amount of price per set but yet with my high mileage running i can't be keep changing every 1 year .... lol |

QUOTE(Kiefer @ Sep 25 2016, 11:40 AM) 35k per month?...typo ke..u mean 35k per year? Hehehe Ya bro, i service my car every 2 months to 2 1/2 months with 7500km clocked. haha It is hard to get long mileage tyrea with good grip...if your tyre shop good, u can ask them on the records they have. Priorities these so u know what comes first..then maybe easier to decide. 1. Grip 2. Comfort low noise 3. Mileage 4. Budget. Anyway I just made up my mind, going for Pirelli P1 and give it a try. Will write a review once test on different road conditions . |

QUOTE(chyu89 @ Oct 9 2016, 11:54 PM) Do you guys also have this issue where alignment is perfect. But on a straight road if hit any small bumps or uneven road. Car will glide to left. I have this problem when i rotate my tires front to rear , rear to front without doing balancing or alignment. This issue acknowledged by SC ,now on queue list for HQ inspection. When the geometry of suspension is not properly aligned it could happen to. Our malaysian road is not properly flat instead lean 1 to 2 deg to the left for water dispersing and our large 42litre fuel tank is on the left side rather than sitting in the middle like other cars. A little pull to left when you let go steering is normal la i think. Just my 2 cents. |

QUOTE(macdaniel @ Oct 18 2016, 11:15 PM) Ya i guess this too, because most of time pull slightly left was in highway. If in this case later I instal front strut bar will it be help? Strut bar / Strut brace will not help to correct suspension geometry instead it acts as a brace to stiffen both strut tower section thus help minimize flex. |

Front strut 2 point charging 165 MYR Rear Anti-roll bar 19mm - 435 MYR 21mm - 475 MYR He quoted : 19mm still ok with 2 back passengers , 21mm abit harsh if considering for passengers at the most back. |

A good ceramic brake pads ( Akebono for Toyota NCP93 ) like i'm using now cost about 130MYR and another 2 packets of brake pad grease cost another few ringgit.
Anyhow i felt latest alza would be better to use semi-metallic brake pads with more biting grip compared to ceramic ones. Even the original provided brake pads doesn't bite as hard not last minute stopping was quite scary. |

QUOTE(Kiefer @ Nov 2 2016, 05:58 PM) Ya..semi ceramic is better...bit finding a good one with good grip and affordable price seems hard. Ya true there's no best in both world. Some claimed good grip but ended up the disk out easily. So far i am okay with current 2nd disc and pads. As long as you know how well it grips, dont follow too near My Ceramic pads does gives some advantage in terms of heat handling, down hill genting with 3 passengers still able to get brake pedal feel though you know its over-heating and also after 45k km of hard braking usage still have more than 60%. My next sets would be TRW semi-metallic pads and disc with just under 200 MYR . Hope it doesn't wear off my disc rotors too soon. Hehe |

QUOTE(adrian87 @ Nov 8 2016, 05:38 PM) Hi guys, how often should I change ATF replace D3-SP. My first service, consultant recommended and I done it already. Now is my 3rd service that is 10k mileage, another consultant recommends again. In the service book it says every 40k km but i do mine in every 20k km. ATF fluid is quite important to prolong AT lifespan. |

QUOTE(Kiefer @ Nov 11 2016, 03:31 PM) The common issues are captured here and brought forward from the previous thread. Hey bro, does your hotbits extractor give you too much of FC difference compared to your ori with catalytic ? I have 1st gen version Alza, clocking 5 year now this month with 120k km. No major issues so far and maintenance is very affordable (*outside) 1. Tyres = currently 4th set (with the 1st set ori tyres running <10k) 2. brake pads = front change 3 times, rear 1 time 3. absorbers = 1 time at 80k km 4. Change atf every 20k or 30k km 5. Normal service every 7-10k km, depending what oil using. 6. water pump = changed at 70k due to bearing sound and slight leaking. 7. Coolant = changed 1 time at 80k (DIY) 8. Battery = 3rd unit now, normally changed every 2 years. 9. Buzzer wiring - flooding the driver side floor, DIY checking.. will check next round as raining season now. 10. wheel alignment + balancing every 8-10k. 11. cabin filter - changed every year. 12. light bulbs - 3 pcs so far if remembered correctly (using Osram/Philips/Bosch) 13. Engine V belt - changed during the water pump changed. Engine - stock with hotbits extractor. Body - front strut bar, pivot voltage stabilizer, grounding Body - sound proofing on doors, roof and side sills. wheel arch bitumen sprays. Rim - changed rims as ori 2 rims bengkok. I'm very tempted to change it but worried my already fuel sipping engine ( 7.8 l to 100 km ) gonna sip more fuel. QUOTE(IceBikers @ Nov 11 2016, 07:10 PM) hi, may i know perodua alza use what grade of engine oil? SC recommended 5w/30 semi synthetic SM/CF for Alza. semi 10w40 or 10w30? or otherwise? p/s:asking on behalf of friend |

QUOTE(Kiefer @ Nov 12 2016, 10:12 AM) 7.8l per 100km quite good dah...to save fuel, just ease off yr right foot and good maintenance. I see ... after i fitted vios injectors if i run with ori air filter FC can be like 7.3L per 100km . I put in extractor as need better push. I did not track of this helps..but some said yes some not. FC depends on how u drive eventually If i put on my K&N then jialat , smooth highway 120kph can get 7.6 - 7.8 , once jam 8.3 ...... hahaha QUOTE(IceBikers @ Nov 14 2016, 09:45 AM) Yes you may use 10w/30 as it is still same 30 rating. But you have to factor in the type of oil you're using ( Mineral base or Semi-Mineral base or Fully Synthetic base ) to determine your service intervals. |
