Did you try using lighter to heat up the screw? some heat will soften the loctite.
*
err ... if u have seen the 4G3 then u will know how small everything is ... ESKY LAMA V3/4 is not even close .. hahahahaa
some ppl from another website has given me a very good idea on how to remove to screws if it is too tight ... thanks for your idea oso but i think to get some heat to the problematic area is a BIG PROBLEM coz its just so small it will just heat up the whole rotor head .. hahahahaa

go get your 4G3 next month ... yeeck06 oso seemed like getting one
then we can all exchange ideas and share out problems and progress here ... hehehe
it really is a fun heli except when u have to open things up which is difficult coz everything is so small .. hahahaa

I've seen them fly outdoor and seem very sap sap sui nia...hehe...I hope to master my v4 soon and get my first single rotor 4G3. I just started to learn side in hovering. Tail in hovering should be okliao lor. I think most difficult part is nose in hovering. Will spend at least a month or two to learn this hovering orientation. sad.gif
*
see of coz sap sap sui .. boh boon tueh .. u go see in youtube how alan szabo and lukas riva fly oso like sap sap sui only .. hahahaa
when u get it in your hands then u know .. see how keichi drift cars oso damm ez .. u try to drift cars and see what happen la .. tongue.gif

for orientation ... the fastest "free" way to learn is to use the simulator .. serious one ... i can fly FFF .. inverted FF .. normal backward flight quite well liau in the sim ... that really help in orientation ...

I just setup the esky simulator. No coaxial heli available so must choose single rotor heli. Fly single rotor heli for the first time, hehe....seem very difficult lar......not stable at all and so sensitive..If I move too much to the left/right or forward/backward, it will turn upside down and crash to the ground. shocking.gif biggrin.gif For coaxial, it won't turn upside down one wor..... hmm.gif
*
thats only the beginning .. wait til u try it in real life .. hahahahahaa
do not be discouraged .. get the 4g3 or 4#3b and go for it !!!

WOOHOOO !!
finally got the 4G3 to hover well ...
took the 4G3 to the store ... nobody there .. ok .. lets do it !!
1st batt ... throttle up !! heli up !!
thumb thumb thumb ... walaneh ... could get the heli to stay within a 5 ft radius of about 5-6 ft of the ground ... DAMM KOW SYOK !!!!
1st batt dying down liau .. can hear the motors spinning not as powerful .. ok ok change batt ...

2nd batt ... up hover .. syok syok control cyclic
then suddenly got gust of wind come in ... MKH ... blew the heli into a wooden box ...
aiyakkk ... no harm done ... just a pitch control arm came off ... no further damage seen ... fly again lorr
got abit ambitious ... wanted to try abit if FF .. hehehehe
didnt know the damm small heli could go so damm fast one leh .. straight bank corner into another box ... this time more serious injury liau

the feathering shaft that took so much trouble to install is now BENGKOK !!
tonite if got time will install new shaft .. i ordered 4 sets along with screws ... i know i didnt tighten the shafts tight enuff the last round ... coz damm hard to tighten it

nvm ... it was all worth it !!!
tonite IF not too tired then install new shaft !!

seriously ... if this was a 450 ... the 1st crash oso go home liau ... hahahaha

edit ... alot of spelling mistakes

ya ... need to add rx .. gyro .. and mod the servo connectors
but then u can go brushless easily liau with spektrum .. hehehe

cliffang ... getting the 4G3 ?? saw alot of those 4g3 videos in youtube or not ?? hahahahaa ... this thing minimum crash damage la ... only the head parts ... other parts almost no chance to damage in event of small crash
if i was flying outdoors over grass i think 99% chance of NO damage .. too bad me poor fella house small small and no garden to fly in ... otherwise whizz around the garden oso damm kow syok liau .. hahahahaha

u can get the length and rotor specs from uniqexme site or official walkera site ... then imagine that heli side by side with your TREX 450 .. u will get an idea of how small the bugger is la .. hehehe
its shorter than the ESKY LAMA quite alot .. 100 times more challenging to fly ... 10000 times more challenging to mod .. hahahahahahaa

the OEM skids are thin wire only ... there are 3rd party upgrades for it though .. the ppl who uses it says its virtually indestructible ...

now still trying to get the feeling of that 4G3 hovering .. hehehe
newbie like me oso can hover it for 10-15secs straight land and hover again ... thanks to lots of SIM time ... hahahahahahahaa

must make an effort to go back and change the shaft tonite so tomoro can fly again ... hehehe
FYI .. 4 x (feathering shaft + screw) cost me USD10 ... not expensive at all tongue.gif
i think next month i might be ordering parts again laa ... now that i know what will need to be replaced more during crashes tongue.gif

Added on May 28, 2009, 6:28 pmsome of the cosmetic and skid upgrades are here .. http://www.micro-flight.com/

QiW, U know how to adjust the mapping for my lama v4? Adjust no road lar......still trying....hehe
*
WTF u tokking about laa ?? what mapping ??
your LAMA is a 4 channel heli with ori ESKY tx ... cannot do any setting in your tx one oso .. unless u get futaba or spektrum or something that can do settings la .. hahahaha

and what are u trying to do anyways ?? V4 LAMA is a no brainer ... throttle up and just whack only maa

I have to go through the joystick calibration and mapping in the HelisimRC before I can fly the heli, right?
*
say la the SIM ... hahaha
i tot u meant the tx with the heli itself .. tongue.gif

dunno coz i using realflight and never used that FOC sim ... maybe i might download it and try over the weekend .. hehehe

I managed to get it work but after that my transmitter run out of battery. I need to get the rechargeable batter fast. Already spent RM40 for the normal battery! sad.gif

Hobbyasia not selling any upgrade part for 4G3, right?
*
eeerr ... i think most importantly u need to know how to fly b4 u upgrade tongue.gif
there are other places besides hobby-asia for upgrades .. hobby-asia mostly sell stock OEM stuff i think

just go buy rechargable AAs for the esky tx laa ... thats what i am doing now oso with the esky tx and realflight .. rm40 could have gotten u those 8 rechargable liau ... hahaahahaa

The kaui lou really so free, even putting HH Gyro to the tiny 4G3..
Seems like will have to spend a lot more to convert it in using other TX.
*
yes .. of coz ... its the same with everything else in life
buy car not too expensive .. then mod mod mod ... count count ... could have bought another car already .. hahaha

problem is its a hobby thing which has no value .. only self satisfaction and being happy
my other hobby which has taken a back seat currently is fishing .. both freshwater and offshore ... is oso not cheap
buy good fishing gears oso like big heli price liau ... then mod the gears ... custom gears .. service the gears
then have to count the cost of paying for boat ... travelling to fishing spots ... etc etc
it could have been much cheaper to just go market and buy fish .. hahahahaha

who knows ?? one day maybe i might like my 4G3 so much i might wanna spektrum the bugger with HH gyro ?? hahahaha

Maybe... but might not be so soon.
Thinking of going to Graffiti to have a look of it, and see what can they offer me. brows.gif
*
waa ... coming all the way to KL to have a look see ??
or u already have a reason to be here ?? hehehehe

anyways ... more update on my flying ..
was flying around just now .. 1st 5 secs was fine ... suddenly heli out of control !!
WTF ?????
crashed ..... broke tail boom this round ... nothing else serious .. no broken head parts .. phheewwww
upon closer inspection ... the upper swash has separated from lower swash causing me to lose control ... so it NOT ME !! hahahahahaa ... i already have spare boom .. usd4 ... not too bad .. all casude by the separating swash .. hmmmmm
gonna go back and superglue the bugger (as per advised by forummers)

well ... IF u really enjoy building ... then i guess this is the heli to have .. ahahahahaa ... i am not so worried about crashing costs ... more the trouble to fix it back as i mentioned ... everything is just so TINY !!!

while at changing the boom .. i am going to put on my brushless tail setup which i already have .. and oso upgrade the main motors to a different brushless (more power one) set .. both with their own respective ESC ... huahahahaha
this was the bulk of the cost of the rm700 upgrade i ordered earlier this month ..

btw ...... my TREX 450 PRO just arrived !! huahahahahahaahahahaa

i have to master FF 1st la ... 3D all come later laa .. hehehe
and will be done over grass in outdoor field ... so if crash oso minimum damage .. hahahahaaa

the slightly smaller 4#3b got about 8mins+ of normal FF with that motor ... i should be able to get 7mins FF or 5mins 3D la .. IF i can 3D ... hahahahahahaa

i will persevere with the 4G3 until i can fly it effortlessly .. hehehe
after that its time to show off the 450 PRO .. huahahahahahahaa

Added on May 29, 2009, 3:01 pmno need to get the gy401 ... was planning to get it when i was thinking of going the copterX way ... now no need liau coz the 450 pro comes with full digital servos and 750gyro (which some ppl say are same or better than the 401) ... hehehe
all i have to do is build it ... understand it ... later fly it .. hahahahaa

for now its all 4G3 for me ... the little bugger too irresistible liau laa ... hahaha
wait till u get yours then u know ... coz nothing to setup and can fly anytime anywhere ... damm convenient .. u can even take it with u when u go anywhere coz its so small ... it all fits into a shoebox .. hahhaahaa

Oh ya, forgot that the combo comes with everything.
Flying in house, that's what in my mind.
I hover my 450 in my 5 x 6ft living room empty area. Damn too risky. But have tune it and i can fingers off about 10 secs and the 450 stays in the area...  thumbup.gif
My house is near sea side so kinda windy or HOT nowadays, so want to stay indoor.
*
waa ... beach house ... RICH PPL SPOTTED !! huahahahahaa

the 4G3 or the 4#3 will be perfect for indoors ... unless u want coaxials la .. hehehe tongue.gif

QiW, 4G3 is very hard to fly hor....always see u crashed and changed part one... Some more u got all spare part ready. Already expecting it to crash arrr? Haha...If I buy 4g3...I have to consider to include all spare parts lor.
*
u mean u dont expect to crash ??
good luck to u .. hehehehe

its part of the learning process ... build fly crash ... repeat .. until a time when u hit the part of the learning curve where u have got enough knowledge and experience to handle the heli .. hahahahaaa

when u take up this hobby .. always standby another lump sum for parts and other stuff
if u buy a car .. u will expect to pay roadtax .. insurance .. pay for tyres .. sports rims ... etc etc
then u oso have to have $$$ just in case u bang somebody's behind leh ... hahahahaaa

Ha Ha Ha......yeah....I think he already spent a lot of money on the spare part liao....QiW, how much u spent liao? Why not get extreme part so can last longer....not easily broken..... Got extreme part for 4g3 arrr? hehe
*
the EXTREME thing is for ESKY one laa .. hahahaha
its like proton wannabes putting MITSU stickers etc etc on their cars tongue.gif

Not beach house, there's no beach in Muar, mostly wet land.
Somehow my house just 500m away from the sea side. House on wet land = cheap.
Really looking forward for indoor flying.

The one that always crash and change parts are rich "people"~~
yeeck, agree with me?

RM99? what copter is that?
*
of coz those coaxials lor ... good fun but totally no challenge .. hehehe
