Motor Image was never famous for good service, same thing in SG. They're just like typical china-man company with lots of horrible customer complaints in forum.
Most SG subaru owners would rather service their cars with pro-subaru workshops if not for retaining their warranty. I'm one of them.
Thats part of the thing to bear for owning a scooby in SEA region, since they're the sole authorized distributor here.
*
Yes... I concur on this. Don't know why SUBARU is giving face to Motor Image when the service sucks big time!!! Imagine booking an appointment to service your car at last 2 weeks in advance!!!! If it's festive period, you can double of the period!!! doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

So vast difference from T or H.

This and some sound proofing will help. No matter how, they're bound to have some wind noise.
*
Depends......

All my scoobie CBU don't have wind noise.

What's weird... the faster I go, the quieter the car is! haha....

If want better service, try to avoid MIPJ.. A lot of complains lodge due to poor service especially peak hours.. I believe they are understaffed and unable to serve the overwhelming customer to service their Xv and Forester.. Unless you are free during normal working day and able to oversee the progress..
*
That's pure utterly BULL! I bought a sti v10 in 2010 when MI were selling at the cheapest scoobies @ RM170k min. Thus, less customers as its not a 'popular' brand. Back then, customer service sucks big time even though they had less customers. I think everyday, car's went in for service was perhaps 2-3 only. That time the service advisors are like arse holes. The mechanics were even more arse as they don't know much about the car and have this 'tidak apa' attitude. No change from back then till now!!!! Except booking now takes at least 2 weeks!

I really hate MI but I'm one of the loyal scoobie fan. Love the car but not the service!!! vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

Luckily, I only have to see their d@mn faces 2x a year.

Finally able to persuade my wife to get a Forester 2.0 i-P instead of the XV. Pay RM100 for deposit and loan 100% from Hong Leong bank. Booked from the new showroom in Taiping. Got extra 1k cash rebate as it's the promotion for their newly opening showroom. My wife was impressed with all the techs available on the Forester. We wanna book the 2.0 XT at 1st but the SA told us have to apply loan 1st then only can order from Japan after the loan was approved. So end up taking the 2.0i-P . Can wait to sign the documents and lay my butt in the front passenger with my wife on the wheels.

From xv to XT is a huge difference in price! Even from ip to XT is a huge difference!

Actually, am curious on how other scoobies FC perform. Mine is really bad as to my standards la.

ver 10 STi - 9km/l
legacy GT - 8.6km/l

hoping to get at least 10km/l but don't think will be able to. 100% city drive with light footed.

definately no....

my best manual ej20 wrx spec car fc on the street and light footed is 8.3km/l

on highways then cruising at 110-120kmh then only can get around 9-9.5km/l
*
on highways, my legacy still can achieve 11-12km/l light footed ... but definitely cannot compare to NAs

Based on my experience with my previous v10 which I owned since new for 5 years, the engine mounting was never changed and never had any noticeable vibrations.

So, I guess Subaru's boxer engine design might have less impact on the engine mounting... just a guess...

My WRX is spending a few days and hopefully not 2 weeks at Cheras SC. I found the front diff leaking and I'm kinda upset about it. The leak came from the connection between the flywheel and the front diff. Car is close to 20K on mileage. Also complain about the brake fluid servo cap have brake fluid stain seems like the brake fluid gush out from the cap O-ring.

SA shared with me that about 2-3 XV already had the front diff leaking issue how true I'm not sure but he will submit the warranty claim ASAP. I ask if I can get the car back before CNY.

I'm upset because they are going to dismantle the front diff+transmission and being such a new car it really hurts me and my wife use this car majority of the time so she's gonna miss it too. Hope the technician would do a proper and good job after the fix everything back and no more further problems so that my wife and I can enjoy the car again.
*
Wow! SUBARU quality has dropped?!?!? Your wrx should be Japan imported new. Shouldn't have these type of problems especially at 20k mileage.

My only problem now is that my battery is about to die. I think SUBARU or motor image tweak the battery to die slightly after 1 year or 20k mileage! rclxub.gif

Yup CBU, well things can go wrong doesn't matter if it's CBU or CKD. My battery also died in November. Car only at 18K mileage when it die I changed the battery myself because if need to claim then need to tow to SC which is a real hassle. Consider yourself lucky at least your more than mine by 2K mileage. Hahahaha  biggrin.gif
*
CBU should be of higher quality as its built by the Japanese for the export market. Touch wood, so far my 2 CBU scoobies are excellent! biggrin.gif

At MI JB, major service (for XV) normally will take 1 day (9am to 2-3pm normally).  So they will not accept service booking of major service for Saturday coz Sat is half day only.  My 100k km service is due some time next month, my last free service (labour+parts).  sweat.gif
*
100k is one of the priciest service. Have you checked?

That must be for certain part replacement. The standard service from Subaru as shown previously in this forum was RM1685 (including labor)

The most is at 40k (and every 40k after that) which is RM2217.

Something is wrong with yours  hmm.gif

mine is turbo charged using the EJ25 engines. It's the timing belt change.

EJ25?
SH Forester still in warranty meh? if no warranty then go do outside loh, no need to let MI chop carrot head.
if its not in warranty, and you're in Johor, cross border and visit one of those Subaru Specialist in SG, i had mine done using all genuine parts (water pump + tensioner + all recommended parts during timing belt change + labour) for less than RM3k.
*
not Forester. Am using the last of the mohicans! Legacy 2.5GT BM9! flex.gif
